What field of view settings are you guy's using ?

Should probably add that I do know the magnified look your speaking of and I do not have that.
There's a lot of variation in all this (apart from anything else, your eye to screen distance won't be constant), but if you use a lower FOV than the correct calculated value, you are seeing things bigger than they appear in real life. (like the mirror warning, only the opposite). There's no 'effect' as such, same as having FOV a bit higher than correct won't immediately look like a fisheye lens.

I do understand what you are saying.
I do.
On my single monitor I can tell you that I don't see the real life at the calculated view, like you say, maybe it's fisheye, I can't say but I was always having a hard time judging the corners, always hesitant and unsure and always missing the mark.
The calculated fov and I say I did measure over and over again because of all the trouble I was having does not look normal, it just doesn't.
Where I am at looks normal.
Granted if I were to go down to 28 looks bigger, I'm off on the corners, if I were to go 32 I am off on the corners, 30 is the sweet spot you can say.
If you seen the dan morad video on fov and as a real driver he had a problem with a single monitor which looked like a 32, he basically ran from it and suggested a 60 degree fov. At 60 it's definite fisheye.

Thanks, that's helpful. I now drive about the same fov as you. I stopped listening to calculators and set my fov to how it feels in real life. I need to stop trying to see as much as possible, that's just not the way to go.
 
The seat positions are quite different (if not erratic) in various cars of LMU.
That's the main reason why the "correct" FOV is often perceived as "wrong".

The way to go is to find the correct FOV and pitch then finally adjust the seats in all cars.
