What do we expect in June?

I throw my two cents in once in a while(lol) I've said before, if you WATCH WEC races, you will see LMGT3 drivers give up a corner, but only when they are not engaged with other LMGT3 cars. They usually swing wide well before the corner and let the Hyper cars take the apex. No changing of lanes at the last moment. If the Hyper is only just reaching you when you planned on turning, it is up to him to control his car and stay behind until you exit the corner.
If you are battling other cars, then you are under no responsibility to get out of the way in or near a corner. Give them the next straight and then they can zoom on by.(some will barge in anyhow, it is a fact of sim racing in just about all sims)

Because debate is healthy and helps progress. Sorry if that is not what you want.
Well apparently I can't give my opinion as a mod without you thinking I'm shutting down debate, so I have no idea honestly.

@AlanR_77 i.e. I've given reasons I doubt indicators will happen. If you offer something more than "I disagree, and I'm sorry if you don't like debate" then that would be appreciated. So tell me why what I've said is wrong, or show me something I haven't considered...

I will only add that turn signals are used very effectively in the hardest, most difficult 24 hour race in the world. And have been for decades in races with a far lower quality of driver, a far bigger disparity between cars and a much more difficult venue to race at in terms of run off, weather, layout and general difficulty.

But apparently the ACO know best, same as they do with making GT cars sound like Formula E and allowing the same car to dominate their series for 4 bloody years.

WEC does a lot right, but it also not very good at looking elsewhere for ideas.

The most shocking thing is the claim that people don't know whether they should signal right or left. Seriously? In racing, the exact same rule applies in this situation as it does in road traffic. If I signal right - because I am the slower driver -then I stay to the right. The driver behind me sees the signal and knows that they can safely overtake on the left. It’s not exactly rocket science.

The other issue is, this is easy on modern very "buttony" steering wheels, not everyone has that type of wheel, if you are old school and have something like a G25 or 27 you have far less buttons on your wheel, and when you have to have pit speed, lights, flashers, buttons for the menus, you are not going to have one for indicators too.

I think it is a good idea to be able to do this in the series, but it is not adopted by the ACO so it will not be in the game, as this is currently basically a marketing tool for WEC. SO follows their rules as much as they can.

I genuinely think so. There are substandard drivers out there who should never get behind the wheel in real life, or people who don't even have a licence yet, and the chances of someone like that holding the wheel in sim racing? I'd say they're pretty high... It's a tragic reality...

I simply think in multi class it helps to let a following driver know what your plans are.

Especially if you are in LMP3 and GT, or maybe slower Hypers and ELMS LMP2, it would be a little aid

The biggest thing that would help any of this here (or other titles) is for 99.999% of the people to realize and accept that they aren't as good as they think they are.

This is true in all classes and we are all guilty of it

I was in a LM race earlier in the week was chasing down the leader, not likely to catch but was flat out, and caught the GT3 guys mainly the leader, into Indy, a very tough place to pass but your closing speed there is immense, I am doing 205 he is doing about 170, I made out to pass inside, but was not quite close enough, then hastily passed on the inside but off line, only annoying bit was this guy was miles ahead, could easily have given me a little bit of room later, but decided no, this is very common with Gt3 drivers, not so much against Hypers but certainly in LMP2 LM spec and very much in LMp3 where they give you zero respect and almost treat you like cannon fodder. Very annoying

I often think spending equal time in each cars helps, I dislike GT$£ here, for me the physics here come alive in protos, they feel somewhat dead in GT cars, but it is easy to feel invincible in something like a BMW or Lexus.

One thing I often do is start from the pits, you learn a lot about overtaking in packs and also avoiding incidents

So, as President of the Slowpokes Sim Racing Club. I must be that .001 yer talkin' about!

You know what would help? If people bothered to read the tips in the game now about blue flags/overtaking a slower car, or just take 5 minutes to go look up how they do it in WEC.

I’d say about 50% of drivers know what to do, whether that be good racing instinct, common decency, or awareness of the rules. But this is the internet, this is real life. There’s the other 50% that either simply do not care, have poor racing instinct, or are actively out there to cause mayhem. Adding indicators on top of what’s already explained in game won’t change any of this.

Drivers racing in WEC have got there for a reason. If there are issues, race control/the stewards are on top of it straight away. Lives are at danger, both on and off track. Liability exists. Not so much in sim racing, so you get people that don’t understand the rules or simply don’t care. “It’s just a game”. There are around 100 drivers in WEC. At any one time, there are thousands of players racing on LMU. The studio don’t have the resources to steward enough as it is, least of all blue flag incidents.
