Weird Problem with Fanatec Setup

Everytime i enter LMU Options on my Fanatec Wheel the Setup screen activates (like pressing the little button on the wheel),

It was never before and now always. Doesnt matter which wheel i conect (have 4 Fanatecs). This only happens in LMU. Not in AMS or EA WRC ore any other game).

Known problem? Anyone suffers the same problem? What can i do?

Here you see: As soon i start the game or enter setup (controller options) the wheel switches into Tuning Menue. It only happens in Advanced mode. But Auto mode is kinda a**. Im really helpless.

I had new issue with 465 466 where after install had error missing xml ( uninstalled reinstalled fixed it )
467 worked normal swapped GME mods for wheel swapped wheel and LMU options / buttons okay.
Latest driver updates firmware for wheel.
Are you using Fanaled, Fanalab

Because of miss shift problem with the magnetic shifter i went back to 455. Did not change anything with the automatic setup menue activation (hoped for a side effect).

Fanalab on/off does not make any difference as well

As said: only in manual setup mode (Fanatec menue), with ALL wheels and ONLY in LMU.

Have you tried disabling telemetry plugins? As you have seen with the dashboards, running multiple telemetry processes at the same time can sometimes cause conflicts. Example is the pit menu values changing by themselves. So might be worth the shot to test with Fanalab enabled, and Simhub disabled if you haven't tried that already.

I just tried without launching simhub but I will try to start with eliminated plugins.

Looks like LMU is sending constant signals. As you see it is starting all over again.

All Plugins deleted, same result.

When i start game, wheel goes in setup mode.

Killed ist, Go into setups ingame - click controls, bank, wheel is in setup mode.

Good evening @Redadeg 🖐️,

I'm sorry that I don't have a solution for your problem, but I can at least confirm
that I had the same error with my FANATEC steering wheel (McLaren GT3 v2),
but currently everything works as it should✌️

Okay anyway thanks for letting me know that the problem exists. Outside my universe as well and it’s not a problem on my side only.

And for you it vanished just like that?

Hello @Redadeg 🖐️,

I looked to see if I could somehow find out if I'd changed anything, because unfortunately I can't remember

In my SETUPs folder, I saw that I installed a newer driver about six months ago.
I upgraded from version 455 to 462, but I can't say for the life of me whether
that's actually the reason I no longer have the problem, sorry✌️

Just for your information.

Answer from Fanatec:

That's a known issue of the latest P DD Firmware of driver 467 to be fixed with the next bugfix driver update 469 late this spring.

It has Nothing to Do with the Fanatec Driver.

Turn Off Set Steering Rotation from wheel base Driver🤘🏾 Problem Solved✅

I turned it off and went into the J.son file and Set it to false so it will Never activate by mistake🤓

Also it wont hurt to delete the LMU Game contoller profiles and let them Redownload👍🏽.... You can keep your wheel settings j.son so you dont have to remap all buttons.

Good evening @GrimeyDog 🖐️ ,

I'm honestly really happy for you that you solved the problem & found a solution,
but (here comes the BUT ;)) what worked for you might not necessarily work for others.
I've left the steering rotation turned on & I no longer have the problem.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that you reached out & offered your help.
Please continue to do so in the future✌️

No worries.... Its a Known issue that with Fanatec wheels "Use Steering wheel from Driver" Causes issues... It keeps trying to set your wheel to Auto Tune mode.

Yes it's annoying as hell , I have to click the setting mode button on the wheel twice everytime i enter the garage and exit again as it goes into setup 1 mode . Anyone found a fix yet , Or do we wait another 2 years for Fanatecs next software patch which will fix 1 thing and break 4 more FFS Cheers lol

Hello @OZ67 🖐️ ,

downgrading the firmware helped me because just installing an old driver didn't change the firmware,
so I downgraded & haven't had any problems since ✅

I removed the 468 driver via windows app removal and installed 455 still have all latest firmware , rebooted now all wheels and gearshifts work flawlessly.
Also, it no longer changes profile from setup 1 to auto, in LMU. Is that also from driver downgrade or the New LMU V1 install, or because I removed the beta all in 1 app and re-installed the latest fanalab.
