V 1.4 speculation

Oh boy, can we keep the cheating thing to the relevant thread please.

As for the video, bit of an odd one. All this build up and wait for a one minute AI voiced video with very little additional info… Definitely the flattest announcement video they’ve done so far. And it doesn’t look like they have the IMSA licence, what with it simply called US track pack. I’m a stickler for recreating reality on these sims, so it was weird seeing WEC and ELMS at Daytona/Laguna. A shame, but I’ll still enjoy driving them. I suppose we’ll get more info on 1.4 itself in a Hood video the week before release as usual.

On a more positive note, it’s great we’re getting these tracks. I rather like Daytona, mostly for the history rather than the layout itself, but do actually quite like driving it. Never been a fan of Laguna tbh, so a shame that’s coming first. Excited for Long Beach, Road Atlanta and Watkins Glen. Really hoping we get Road America over Indy, but if the folks that matched the stars up to locations are right, it’ll be Indy.

Multi class racing online on these tight American tracks, with the current standard of driving, is going to be interesting…

Exactly, to be honest, a rather lukewarm DLC is announcing itself...Not even the mention of IMSA liveries on existing cars.

Nothing about cars. Just a track pack. They did not show IMSA skinned cars but what appeared to be theWEC Jota Caddy, Green painted Aston & Yellow Ferrari. That would indicate no IMSA cars will be forthcoming or at least they are keeping any further announcements under the tarp.

Maybe in the future as they’re still working on the licensing deal? I’m just living in hope. As Sparviero said above, they have a career mode coming the end of the year… how will they utilise WEC/ELMS liveries cars running on American tracks into a single player career?

I’m hopeful it’ll come down the line. IMSA seem eager to dish out their licence (iRacing, AMS2, Project Motor Racing). It’d be really weird for LMU not to be given it.

I agree, but I'm surprised for the 250th anniversary of the USA, this is what they came up with. I'm not even sure our fellow USA simracers are astonished by 2 tracks on what's a pretty important anniversary.

And it's not like S397 wouldn't have known the 4th of July 2026 was coming right?

Only 40 years until we get a 1,000th Anniversary pack including Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Snetterton 😀

Yup. If the aim here is to get more users from the US/poached from iRacing, not sure this’ll do much. I’d much rather they stick to official championships rather than getting whatever tracks they can.

Again, if they can get the IMSA licence so a full IMSA grid can be recreated offline and in career mode on 6 of the championships tracks, I’ll be much more onboard. If not, I’d much rather they went for AsLMS and bought track scans from elsewhere if they couldn’t make it over there for safety concerns.

Let’s see what happens over the next six months. Fingers crossed.

Honestly, 2 tracks per pack is a scam. This is going to be like $12.99 per pack and that is robbery.

This should be 1 pack. Drop it at Christmas for $19.99. Actually act like a decent company for once in the history of your existence.

I heard that was the actual plan. All they wanted was for NO ONE to complain about prices and they'd drop the entire package at a loss. Oh well...

Expecting 6 laser scanned tracks for $20? You clearly have no idea how much the licensing alone costs to get some of these in. Traxxion were saying in a podcast last week they’ve heard some are as much as 6 figures…

Getting angry at a price you’ve made up in your head is pretty laughable too. I mean if you’re so angry with them, why are you still here?

I am hoping for a follow up video with Mr Hood himself soon.

You make up some prices, then get angry at prices you made up... you just want to be angry then?

For others.... please keep on topic to 1.4. There are existing topics for the other stuff you mentioned.

Thanks.

I won't be buying rando rehashed content is nothing but Paywall like AMS 2.

LMU was near perfect how it was and if you think this will bring big influx of new players you deluded.

IMHO that is .....🤪

Well I'm super excited for the US track pack. The game is great for me and more tracks is a bonus, especially as the quality is going to be ace. Really looking forward to Long Beach and Daytona. Bring it on.

Agreed, I have no interest in the USA tracks if not attached to the IMSA licence with appropriate liveries and cars. I want authenticity, I can race these tracks and cars in several other sims if I wanted to just faff around.

Well, for me, the best thing would be the offline career mode. I’m pretty fed up with online racing now because, even though I mostly race in Gold these days – despite having a Platinum 3 SR – I often come up against people who go full throttle into the first corner of a 40–60-minute race and ruin the few moments I have to play
If LMU wants to survive longterm, they have to address this ... its a joke
