Useless racers and unfair Bans.

Yesterday I hop into LMU Multiplayer for the first time, first race was great, clean racing except for one backmarker who destroyed my car, but hey, P5 at the end.
Problem comes when I wanted to play today, and EVERY. SINGLE. RACE. I GOT RAMMED BY PEOPLE, and of course, at every single race, the car ended up destroyed, and DNF. Surprise came when I entered the Main Menu and I couldn't access the Online Mode, idk if its a Ban, and if it is, is really unfair. I got a lot of experience on SimRacing, and just wanted to have a great time playing online LMU, but finding people like XX, who just crashed into me to destroy my race after I overtook him, destroys the experience of this game.

You can use report option after the race or if you missed it just go to event history and do that. I need to admin today was not a clean day. i had also really hard core people who were using my car as break. On the other hand i also made 2/3 bad moves but it felt like my break were not doing what i want, i could not find any pace on track in hypercars and that was first race after hotfix update today. Last hypercar fixed race was really clean. One guy was hitting so hard otherones that he got DQ from the race. I usual as good as never see people DQ … so you can imagine how much he has done to deserve that? I had 4 hits from behind from him. Sometimes when someone is pressuring its not bad also to let them go.. and them start pressure them and do fake moves until they mess up and go off track :D

Sometimes people can't access the online, restarting LMU might be enough, I think other times they've had to agree to the terms in their profile again. Possibly something else too.

Can you check and show a screenshot of the error?

Unfortunately it happens. I had two races yesterday. I drove a Ferrari GTE at Portimao and was utter rubbish. A few laps in I spun and collected a Porsche and sadly trashed his race. I didn’t mean to and got a ‘Dude!’ comment in the chat. It was deserved. I went to apologise afterwards but he’d left. I then raced LMP2s at Spa and qualified on the front row for the first time. Had a great race and finished 3rd. Survived a bashing from a DRB3/SRB0 - he didn’t and then moaned in the chat about people who can’t drive….. It’s how racing in the beginner lobbies goes….

I can’t imagine it’s a ban that quickly after your first few races. As Lazza says, restart and if it persists let us have a screenshot of what it’s showing you. F12 for a screenshot.

If online mode is not available, there may be a problem and has nothing to do with a ban. Some drivers can be a bit overzealous at times. Crashes happen at LMU just like in real races. For me the question is always whether it was intentional, inability or lack of ability. They are all just people who make mistakes and I only report if there was a clear intention behind it. We should also all remember that it is just a game.
You should always question yourself as to whether you are always so error-free. Hey, I'm only human and I make mistakes

True enough. I would have expected to be reported for my Portimao crash, however it was entirely accidental.

But I also have to say that everyone has it in their hands. Drive cleanly and increase your SR and take part in the medium races. It's much more relaxed than with beginners

@NeKroTiK, I feel your pain. Over the past two days I've been practicing offline mostly and did a few online races. The racing was absolutely pathetic online! Out of all the races I entered I was smashed into by other racers like it was a demolition derby. As usual I ended up hitting the barriers while the persons hitting me managed to keep on driving. I ended up with THREE DNF's IN ONE DAY. I was so badly damaged in two of the races I couldn't even safely drive back to the pits for repairs and had to retire. In the third race the person I was cleanly overtaking was so aggressive he hit into me repeatedly and forced me into the barrier, then carried on racing without any major damage. All I could do was limp to the pits, with my steering at an awful angel, had a 180 second pit stop to repair damage, and came back 2 whole laps later. In my opinion the penalty system is awful, it penalises the innocent racer worse than the "perpertrator". That's sort of like having your house robbed then getting thrown into prison because you were robbed, only to see the burglar walk free. I get that it's better than nothing, but that's not saying much about the penalty system. Unfortunately the Intermediate races weren't much better either, and there were all of 4 racers in the advanced race I started. The only way to have a clean race nowadays is to qualify in the top 5 and then survive lap 1. Cars behind you will wreck each other and you'll miss the carnage.

I got taken out quite badly in Silver / Intermediate yesterday, the dirty driving is making its way out of the Beginner / Bronze SR races. I have a Gold 3 SR but the Gold rated races are always empty nowadays.

I have a 'stay out of trouble' mentality. I started on the front row at Spa yesterday but was down to 5th out of La Source simply because I didn't want to bang wheels with the hard chargers behind me. Needless to say, several of them fell off. You can see that it's going to happen when the two cars in front are going at it hammer and nails, not giving each other an inch, trying to pass in stupid places. You know that one or both of them are going to go off so I generally just wait for them to come together, maintaining enough distance to try and ensure I don't get caught up in it. That's how I've managed to get a P SR rating. I'd say that I have 2 out of 3 good races applying this approach. I don't win and I rarely get on the podium as with my level of skill, a top 6 is a very decent result for me. I would race intermediate or advanced more often but the extra time is an issue, particularly as sitting in one position for lengths of time is a bit of an issue for me right now, health-wise and it's off-putting to see relatively few other drivers in those lobbies. Personally I find the on-track etiquette far better in intermediate and advanced because the people racing are far more conscious of maintaining their SR. In the beginner races, there are plenty of drivers who are quick over a single lap but many have no real idea of the importance of patience and racecraft and they think that because they are faster than you they are entitled to be in front of you. I get particularly annoyed by the idiots who are behind you at the start and flash their lights at you through the first 2-3 corners - absolute twonks! ;)

I drive a lot of, or if possible only intermediate, races in the Hypercar and, if there is no software crash or disconnect, I survive over 90% of the time and collect a lot of SR points. It is often up to you whether you take a risk or not. I also see many drivers who overtake without thinking and then always blame others. That’s exactly what race intelligence is. Being fast is one thing, driving intelligently and safely is another. You should also often think about what you can do better to avoid a crash. But accidents happen. The software can also only register a contact and not who caused it

Because my DR is low B3, I find myself racing against drivers in the lowest lobby most of the time. It's ironic that a member here was complaining that he found himself in higher lobbies against better drivers, but I'd take a race against drivers who actually have some racecraft any day of the week. I did a beginner LMP2 race at Portimao an hour or so ago and the behaviour was pretty awful. Too many drivers are willing to take the risk of literally pushing you out of the way as so often, the 'pusher' gets away with it while the car pushed ends up in the barriers. If it works the other way around, you can be sure that the 'pusher' will be moaning about your 'bad driving' in the chat!

Its just bad that once you‘ve reached P3 there is no more SR you can get. At least i have now new goal and that is to maintain that full p3 line for as long as possible which again lead to avoiding every incident possible. i also have feeling that drivers who got hit by another car get less penalized then this was the case already but this is only my feeling and maybe i‘m totally wrong here.

I was hit at least 3 times in that Portimao race but still got a decent amount of positive SR because all of my other laps were clean.
that was not always the case how SR worked i believe. It would be great if we would be updated if something changes in the background.

Please use the in game report function. Naming and shaming on the forum won't achieve anything.

I don't know. I know that the 'cones issue' was resolved but I'm not aware of anything else. Looking back quickly, I see that I've only lost SR 3 times in my last 30 races.

Well, you have become SafetyCar now, to quote another platform, what more do you want. :p

I agree with your points. Unfortunately at the back of the pack, where I usually am, the race mentality is different. I always overtake clean and usually on straights or fast sweeping bends. Some people can't handle that. To mitigate that I'm working on improving lap times offline so I can start towards the front of the pack and hopefully have a safer race.
