Things I should improve.

When the engine breaks down, it doesn't give you the option to exit the game and restart from the garage. If you crashed, you crashed DNF.

The fuel issue is that it's better to add rather than subtract when resting fuel energy.

Sometimes you have to stop in the pits, either because of weather conditions, I'd say it's a bit complex because you have to add up the energy you have plus the energy you're going to refuel.

Didn't you post this elsewhere earlier today? - to which my reply was, that's life - literally as it is in real life. If you have a chance to win, don't crash and break your engine.

If you break the engine, you won't be winning it. Are you asking for a "tow" option? If so there is a request for that already (go give it an upvote).

In any event, if you 'break' the engine, towing back to the pits won't be helpful. A blown/damaged engine cannot be replaced.
