SimEndurance - Strategy Planning, Live Telemetry Tool for Endurance Racing (Live Telemetry Update)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on for quite some time.

The application is called SimEndurance, and it’s a structured strategy and team management platform built specifically for endurance simracing.

How It Started

The idea originally began during my bachelor’s thesis, where I researched the potential of AI-based strategy making and tools within motorsports. That research made me look closer at how endurance teams prepare for races, and how much of that preparation still relies on spreadsheets and manual coordination.

Throughout 2025, I continued refining the concept and gradually turned it into a working platform.

What SimEndurance Does

SimEndurance focuses on bringing structure into endurance race preparation. It allows users to:
  • Plan and simulate race strategies
  • Organize driver stints
  • Manage fuel and pit planning
  • Average lap time calculation per stint
  • Tire-set tracking
  • Pit stop time loss modeling
  • Race clock integration
  • Timezone synchronization per user
  • Real-time race phase awareness
  • Visual stint tracking
  • Strategy comparison and optimization
  • Team creation and management
  • Shared race planning environment
  • Centralize race preparation into one system
The goal isn’t to overcomplicate things. It’s simply to give teams a clearer and more organized way to prepare and execute their race plan.

Development & Testing

Over the past months, the platform has been privately tested by competitive drivers and teams who provided valuable feedback. Many of the current features were shaped directly through real race usage and iteration.

The application officially launched recently, but it is far from “finished.” Development will continue, and feedback is extremely valuable.

Why I Built It

At its core, this project is about raising the standard of race preparation in endurance simracing.

Endurance racing rewards structure, discipline, and planning. I wanted to build a tool that supports that mindset.

I’d be happy to answer questions or hear your thoughts. You can reach me here: simendurancestudio@gmail.com

Always open to feedback.

Hello,
To access the website, you have to create an account. At the bottom right of the page, you can find a guide that explains how to use the website and what all the features do.

Hi everyone,

I’m happy to share a new update for SimEndurance: Live Telemetry is now available.

The idea behind this update is to make SimEndurance more useful not only before the race, but also during it. With live telemetry, teams can follow important race data in real time, get a clearer overview of what is happening on track, and make faster and more informed decisions while the race is underway.

To support this, I built SimBridge, a small companion application that connects the game telemetry to SimEndurance. Together, live telemetry and SimBridge make it possible to bring more of the live race information directly into the platform.

For SimEndurance, this means moving one step closer to becoming a more complete tool for endurance teams. It started mainly as a strategy and stint planning platform, but with live telemetry, it becomes much more connected to the actual race. My hope is that this makes the website more useful, more practical, and more valuable for teams that want planning and live race information in one place.

It has now been about one month since launch, and during that time I’ve received a lot of positive feedback. That has honestly meant a lot to me, and it has kept me motivated to continue improving and developing the platform further.

The past month has also been very busy. A lot of my time has gone into building the live telemetry system and SimBridge, while at the same time trying not to fall behind in my studies :) So I’m really happy to finally be able to share this update.

I see this as one more step in a longer journey, but I’m excited about the direction SimEndurance is going. If you'd like to try it, please share feedback or ideas for future improvements.

Edit: Please note that Live Telemetry is currently available only for team races to support the extra server loads.

You can use a one-time code: TELEMETRY for 50% discount to check out all features.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported the project so far.

We just pushed a small RaceView update.

Pit stop loss is now automated based on the selected track, refuel amount, and tyre changes, which makes stint planning much quicker and more accurate. You can also manually override pit loss for any stint if repairs or something unexpected happens during the race.

We also expanded the in-game time multiplier options, so you can now choose every value from 1x to 12x instead of only even numbers.

Does it work also if I'd want to spot a teammate of mine, or only team races?
To see others' data, you need to be in a team. There, one driver can connect live telemetry, and engineers can follow the race live on their own screen. In personal races, you can't enable live telemetry, but you can still share the race strategy easily to other people with the export/import feature.

New SimEndurance update.

Since the last live telemetry update, I’ve been working on a few new things based on the feedback people have sent me.

A couple of new things have been added now:

For live telemetry, I added a position history graph that also shows when someone has made a pitstop, how long it took and how many laps the previous stint was. I also added a stint pace view. The idea is to make it easier to understand how a race is developing over time instead of only looking at the current moment. These features were specifically requested from a race engineer pov, so I wanted to get them in.

On the strategy side, I added more in-game time multiplier options and also automatic pit stop loss calculation. You can now choose the track in race settings, and pit loss is calculated based on the track, fuel refill, and tyre changes.

I’ve also been working on general performance and stability improvements to make sessions smoother and a bit more reliable under load.

All of these updates, together with the feedback I keep getting, are helping SimEndurance move in the right direction. So I added an Early Supporter option for anyone who wants to support the project and get full access for life.

The project is interesting but I would like to understand some things, I'll give you an example, In my team we are 6 drivers, the number 1 driver is currently doing the first stint in an 8 hour race, me or a driver from my team,
By going to your website can you see the telemetry data of the race? can you see what the other crews in the race are doing? I could support the project with the purchase but I would like to understand how it works, I would also like to understand if my classmates should also purchase or the free version will suffice.
I'm sorry for the questions but they seem legitimate to me, I'm waiting for news

Hello, thank you for the questions.
As long as one of your teammates is connected and streaming live telemetry to the website, everyone on that team can see it. And to be a member of a team, you need team access.
With live telemetry, you can see other drivers' lap times, pit stops, stint pace view, and position history. The only thing you cannot see from other drivers is the car telemetry, such as tyre and fuel levels.
I hope this answers your questions.

So my companions also have to purchase the package to see the telemetry? Is it enough that only I am the TM who buys it? I understand that the wear of the opponents' tires is not visible, but petrol is also natively available in the races,
why is it not showing on your system? are you planning to add this and other things in the future?

Yes, every member needs their own subscription because live telemetry needs more server support, and fuel levels of other cars are harder to fetch with the system I'm using, but I'm working on trying to bring it as soon as possible! But with the position history update, you can keep track of every stint opponents have made and, from that, see the pitstop advantages.

got it, it's a shame, there are around 30 drivers in the team, you understand that I can't expect everyone to pay 40 euros to follow the team races given that we do a lot of endurance races with a lot of crews

Yes, I completely understand that concern.

At the same time, SimEndurance works more like most other add-ons or online game services, where each user has their own account and access. That is generally how these kinds of tools are structured, and shared group access for larger teams is not that common.

That said, that's why I have the 50% off first month code active with TELEMETRY, which is only 1.50€ for a month. That way, teams and drivers can test the platform properly first and see if it is worth it for them before committing further.

My goal is to keep improving the platform and find a model that makes sense both for users and for the server costs that live telemetry brings.

today me and some of my classmates tried your system, if I can give you some feedback I would start by pointing out that:
1) the tire temperatures are incorrect
2) the accelerator and brake percentage is incorrect
3) there is no damage to your car
4) it would be very appreciated if you could insert the weather forecast
5) every now and then the tire temperature data flickers
6) It would also be appreciated to include what type of tires you are using
I'm done for now, let me know if you intend to implement these things also because there are many plugins that already do this, for example I use dash with simhub and I have all this information

Hi,

Thank you for testing SimEndurance, and the feedback

About the tyre temperatures: the values shown in SimEndurance are currently carcass/core temperatures, not surface temperatures. From my testing, those are being shown correctly, but I understand that they may look different compared to other overlays or dashboards depending on what temperature layer they use.

For the other points, I will look more into them, fix the issues/ add new features.

SimEndurance is still being developed actively, so feedback like this is very helpful. The goal is not only to show raw data, but to build a useful tool for teams and race engineers, so I will keep improving these areas over time.

SimEndurance Desktop 0.1.0

The goal of the new application is simple: move everything SimEndurance has become into one dedicated desktop application built for endurance racing in Le Mans Ultimate.

A complete endurance racing workspace

With SimEndurance, your team can:
  • Create and manage teams
  • Build different driver lineups
  • Create shared team races
  • Plan stints, tyres, fuel and virtual energy
  • Organise driver swaps
  • Follow the full race strategy together
  • Stream live telemetry to teammates and race engineers
  • React more quickly to weather, traffic and changing track conditions
The idea is to create a proper team experience around LMU endurance racing.

Drivers can focus on driving, while teammates and race engineers follow the same race data and help make better calls from outside the car.

Plan the race together

Before the race, teams can create a shared strategy and organize:
  • Driver order
  • Stint lengths
  • Tyre usage
  • Fuel or virtual-energy targets
  • Pit-stop timing
  • Race setups
  • Real-world start times
  • Different team lineups
Everyone works from the same shared RaceView, which helps reduce confusion and keeps the team aligned throughout the event.

The strategy page has also been redesigned with a cleaner interface, clearer race totals, improved tyre management and easier inline stint editing.

Stream live telemetry to the whole team

The new desktop application connects directly to Le Mans Ultimate and sends live race data to the rest of the team.

Teammates and race engineers can follow:

  • Overall and class standings
  • Lap and sector times
  • Gaps and positions
  • Pit status
  • Fuel and virtual energy
  • Average VE usage per lap
  • Tyre life and temperatures
  • Brake and engine temperatures
  • Track conditions
  • Weather forecasts
  • Live track positions and traffic
  • Pit-exit traffic information
Only the driver PCs need the desktop application.

Race engineers and spectators can follow the telemetry from the SimEndurance website or desktop application.

Automatic active-driver switching

Endurance racing often means several drivers are connected during the same event.

SimEndurance now automatically follows the driver who is actively sending fresh telemetry.

This means that during a driver swap, the team output can move to the new driver automatically.

The rest of the team continues receiving the correct car data while drivers who are not currently in the car remain spectators.

Full-race weather forecasting

The new weather system helps teams prepare before conditions change.

It includes:

  • Current sky and rain conditions
  • Track wetness and track state
  • Air and track temperature
  • Upcoming weather changes
  • Full remaining-race forecast
  • Rain intensity
  • Wind speed and direction
  • Weather trend
  • Wet-finish risk
  • Heavy-rain risk
This gives race engineers more information when deciding whether to extend a stint, prepare wet tyres or react to changing conditions.

A better team racing experience

SimEndurance is not intended to replace the driving experience.

It is designed to make racing as a team more organised, more interactive and more fun.

The driver gets support from teammates who can follow the race live, monitor the strategy and help make decisions.

The race engineer gets a dedicated view of what is happening on track.

The whole team gets one shared plan and one live source of information.

That is the experience I want SimEndurance to create.

This is the first desktop release

Version 0.1.0 is the foundation for the new application.

There will still be things to improve, and I plan to continue developing:

  • Telemetry accuracy
  • Strategy features
  • Team tools
  • User experience
  • Additional LMU data and race insights
A lot of the development has already been shaped by feedback from teams and drivers using SimEndurance in real endurance events.

I would really appreciate any feedback, bug reports or suggestions for what should be added next.

You can download SimEndurance Desktop and find the installation guide at:

https://simendurance.com

Thank you to everyone who has tested the application and supported the project so far.

I’m really excited to finally release this update and see how teams use it in their races.

Excellent update,:D really well done, if I may, for the next updates what is missing is an outline of the car that shows any damage, an indicator that shows any damage, an indicator if perhaps it is possible to show the flat spots of the tires, then we would also need the possibility of resizing the various cards in the telemetry management if it were possible ,I would also add the possibility of filtering the general ranking based on the car category

Another thing is that the yellow flags are missing, perhaps by sector, sorry but we are testing it at 360 degrees
Would it be possible in the position graph to be able to select a driver (or more than one) and display only the selected driver, making the rest of the grid in the background?
