Ranking-System

Why is no one saying that the safety ‘points’ system, is very heavy?
I haven't encountered such a tough security system in any game.

All in the advice - you want to gain safety rating - take the last places in qualifying and at the start let everyone go for 10 seconds, and then go clean laps - that is, everyone thinks this is normal in a racing game? I don't know who came up with this safety points system, but the way of earning money that forces us to do this is clearly not in line with the racing theme.

 The developers said in an interview - all you need is 10 games and you get access to hypercar racing.
 In fact - I get the achievement overtaking/50 races/24 hours in races, played since 5 January 40 hours, always get to the finish line, in the race most of the laps clean (even this week's track fujdi, where unrealistic to cut) all the same safety rank 0.

What am I saying - do we deserve such a safety system?
For example, a normal race - always plus 3%-8%, but as a crash at the first corner or someone stood up and DNF, then immediately minus 50%.
Аnd there is a safety rating from bronze to platinum, so 3% is such a tiny percentage in bronze, and what will happen in silver - 0.1% to 100%? I did not even that in MMOs I did not swing by %, as here I earn % for the level 😆

Get rid of most of those contacts (scenery included), and track cuts, and you'll see your rank increase quite quickly.
1. inevitable contacts at the start in day races until the third corner. Note that for all 20 minutes only three cuts and 2-3 contacts.

Now a week of track in Portugal on lmp2, and 90% of newcomers do not know what is cold tyres and on the first turn always 2 cars turn around, on the third (the one that 90 degrees) repeatedly. avoid contact is simply impossible, if not you, then you hit.
2. pay attention that this is bronze, not some platinum, where the price of experience and mistakes are different.

We've all been there. I still race fairly regularly in the beginner lobbies and manage to avoid most contacts. I've been at the very top of SRP3 for several months. Just persevere and stay on the track - you're getting a lot of invalid laps in very short races. Your own illustrations show us 7 times beyond track limits in two races of about 20 laps in total.

Why is that you read normal? Since 5 January I returned to the game and for 40 game hours rating, as was 0, and remained at the same time. with logical mathematics, then everything that is higher in level goes less in the plus and more if you take something away.
What I mean is, with such a low increase for such a small collision in bronze, it seems - that on the platinum for not reducing the speed on the yellow flag - like immediately minus 400000% rating?

I'm not sure I follow you. I only lose safety rank infrequently. Looking back, 6 times in my last 50+ races. And that includes quite a lot of long races. All I am saying is (as Emilian has also said), you need to have less track limits penalties and try not to hit other cars or posts etc. You'll soon see your SR rise up.

Now if you were concerned about why increasing your DR is so hard, then I'd probably agree with you.... ;)

You're having contact with other drivers and invalidating a lot of laps. In the top one, almost half of your laps were invalidated and you'd contact with other drivers. If you race clean and defensive, you will gain SR. And always finish races. It will increase you clean laps %.
I'm Platinum 2 and when I do go to beginner lobbies, the standard is lower compared to advanced lobbies, with respect to contacts and so on. I mean this respectfully.

more about the points situation:
As you can see, all races were completed. The game system itself evaluated my chances to get high positions.
out of 10 laps of the first race - 3 cuts, 4 laps of qualifying - 0 cuts.
11 laps of the second race, 4 cuts, 5 laps of qualifying, 0 cuts.
in 30 laps in two races, seven cuts, which is about 20% of the laps cancelled. If you go deeper into the cuts, then for example, to get round the lap, which does not give way - you have to cut. Someone spun - everyone braked - you have to go round the cut-off.
About contacts - it is 90% of cases of the first turn (now a day race in Portugal and always there now in the middle of the grid, there will be hits from those who are in front or behind).

of all I mean about the rating system: since I often play other ‘rating’ games, the game up to the average ‘level’ on the rating can normally reach, as the game show encouragement for effort. in LMU I saw the words from the film ‘Ford vs Ferrari’ - You have to race, not drive like a pensioner. So it's triply frustrating to me that the game purposefully slows down driving without forcing you to race and at a 0.1 gap forces you to back off the fight to hit the braking zone and not get a safety penalty.

Well, just looking at your last comment, then yes, you often do have to back off in the braking zone if the alternative is (trying to) overtaking beyond the track limits. This is intended to be a sim, mirroring as closely as possible real life racing where drivers do have to respect track limits. It also isn’t F1 where the space beyond the track seems to have become fair game to drive on….

Well about overtaking outside the whole track in F1, this is a situation from real life and about two drivers :), and if we compare games - in F1 there is no safety rank, but there is a rank of driver's experience. And if in the game more than three cuts - 2-3 seconds penalty is guaranteed, and for contact - 10 seconds. In the same ACC they also give you ‘Orange Flag’ for the damaged car. . . . . and since you mentioned about the game that LMU accurately reflects real races, then..:
when there are yellow flags in LMU - why nobody reduces speed, and even overtakes? where are the penalties?
when a car has a spoiler or a wheel (according to the game engine) or damage - where is the orange flag to the driver?
and why are cars with identical licence plates allowed at the start? :)
so it's a game and it should remain a game, not something that to play you need to pump some option that can be spoilt by other players.

here is a video by the way, I decided to spend at least one race at the maximum, and in the end I was leaked the safety rank, well, 2 more days I will drive slowly, which would only earn wasted points because of the contacts :))
there last position 15, it's after another hit, I parked the car on the kerb and went to make myself a coffee, saying that the option to increase safety in the game is just great :)

I find it a little funny when posts like these crop up and how little self awareness the OP has. Nine times out of ten, there's a very good reason why you're struggling to up your safety rating - you. But they're not able to, or willing to accept that and "it's everyone elses fault" or "it's the game's fault". Even when users are very helpfully pointing out where you've gone wrong, or explaining how the system in the sim works. You just can't help some people.

I think that’s possibly a little unfair. I’ve posted many times about the DR and SR system which I personally consider to be flawed but I’ve got used to it and live with it as there is no choice, it’s the same for all of us. My only wish would be for the weighting given to qualifying and finishing in the top half to be reduced so that beating the sim’s expectation for your position in qualifying and race carried more weight. I think people would understand the system more if that was the case. So, I understand it and play in accordance with it but feel that it could possibly be improved. But the system has been around for a long time and there’s no desire to change it and anyone who suggests that it could be better is very often met with a somewhat quizzical and slightly disparaging ‘you don’t really know what you’re talking about response’.

I agree, but my point was really to do with this thread and a few others, whereby the OP has been provided with plenty of feedback and information, yet still isn’t really taking anything onboard.

The driver rating is a whole different story but safety rating is pretty self explanatory and pretty easy to increase. If you’re finding it so difficult and constantly blaming the game/other racers, then maybe it’s time to look at yourself… That was my point here.

Absolutely fair - and yes, I agree.

And again minus SR rating for DNF, thrown out of practice, which went to qualification. . . . . can not re-enter in any way (exit from the game, restart PC, no result), what will be there on the security rating? Again minus 50% for DNF and probably again guilty of me in this situation :), and the security system will react correctly to punish me (this is not an isolated case).

The SR system is still extremely cruel for newcomers (I don't know why they praise this safety system) and in addition to the maths that if you go purely to have 1 contact due to carelessness, that would get to SR0 silver, it will take 38 races, that's if no one hits for a DNF. Who said it takes 10 races for silver? :)

To OP: LMU is simply not for everyone. Can't you understand what means driving clean, no contacts and no track cuts? And stop bothering with these Rankings. Enjoy in racing. Result will come it self.
