after doing a lot of testing with a variety of gpus ive found LMU is using over 24gb vram on ultra @3440x1440p and switching to system ram causeing stutters.
worse so with an 8gb gpu on the very lowest settings the game is still switching vram to system ram and causing stutters.
this is in an A.I race (multiclass) all cars with 20 visable cars set. the 8gb gpu instanly filled up and switched over 3gb to system ram.
those with only 16gb of system ram will run in to all sorts of issues with this. the Vram allocation and usage needs to be addressed asap.
i created a topic on steam regarding this and everyone is saying the same thing.

thank you for listening.

Picked up on this, might be wrong, do you all have AMD Gfx cards? I have not seen this with my Nvidia Card, in fact if anything I have head room of VRAM. Also headroom of CPU, but still getting the stutters.
same issue on my nvidia card. instantly running out of vram and switching to system ram. lucky i have 32gb of system ram because it fill up 26gb of it lol. not good as swapping vram to system ram causes stutters

I was starting to lose my mind until I found the Ram Leak thread. Followed the 'pub share' beta download and CEF settings suggestion and all stutters/crashes gone. I'm able to put my settings back to ultra/high and enjoy the game once again.

Things are working fine my side after the beta, smooth as silk. But out of interest I tried this setting;

player/settings.json:
"CEF Async":true,
"CEF GPU Compositing":false,
"CEF GPU Rendering":false,

7800x3d
4090

Had quite an adverse effect, menus very laggy and near unusable, GPU usage very slightly risen.

Hello,
Could someone explain to me the manipulation for pub-share and the beta version? I don't understand what to do and I also have the 16 GB of VRAM of my RX6800 that fills up in the menus as well as on the track and that loads my RAM up to 25 GB.
Please help me

For the Beta version of the game
  1. Right click on the game in the Library > Click Properties...
  2. Go to Betas tab, then select one of the choices available in the drop-list of beta programs.
  3. Steam will automatically download the Beta version of the game. You can close it afterward.

Hope it solves your issue, have you also tried this fix for AMD gfx cards?

player/settings.json:
"CEF Async":true,
"CEF GPU Compositing":false,

I can't try because I dont have CEF settings in original file settings.json.
I would make this moficiations this night after instal beta version of Le Mans Ultimate.

You might not need those CEF setting, I would try how the beta works first. I tried those setting just out of interest on my Nvidia system and it made things very bad.

Hello,
It's work perfectly with adding settings in settings.json.
With this I have 8.9GB VRAM/11GB RAM in race and 3GB VRam in the menu.

Thanks for your help.

Have a good races !

on the beta version it seems fixed (6.3gb Vram) when driving GTE and LMP2 (single class with 25 visable cars) but if i drive Hyper cars vram fills up instantly when in game. so no chance of driving multi class.
i guess still needs a lot of work.

Hyper cars are still filling up my 8gb of Vram. lmp2 and GTE togeather are fine but cant even run Hyper cars in single class. RTX 3070ti
this is using low to medium settings at 3440x1440p. instantly fills up 8gb and starts stuttering as it switches to system ram. system ram still jumps to over 20gb with just hyper cars lol

Update3, Hotfix1 (Dec, 11th 2024: "Fix for various AMD specific reported crashes") really fixed a lot (addendum: everything?) concernig the mentioned bugs, including the (v)ram leakage and file corruption problem, at least i didn't noticed anything serious yet. Thx! :)

(in comparison update2, patch1, hotfix2 from Nov, 14th only seemed like a wound plaster)
