Pit values changing while entering the pit zone

It's very annoying. I set repair or not value and gaz refilling volume and when i enter the pit it changes to another value.
for example i set not repair and then it will change to repair and it changes the amount of fuel to full or to the number of supposed lap left wich might be wrong (i usually put on more lap to be safe).
It happens like in 80% of the races

It does happen - I prepare for a pit stop over several laps beforehand and the repair/do not repair change is really annoying.

in my experience the repair option def jumps back to on when getting new damage.

or does it randomly?

It has happened to me without new damage. I use CrewChief but haven't noticed any effect from that.
