Thanks for posting this! Wow, what an accomplishment. Here we are asking for an animated pit crew while you have a family member doing this in real life 😁

He got into pit crewing for the in-house McLaren series as he was doing some work for McLaren. From there he did some British GT and was then asked if he would like to do some LMP3 racing. He did the 2020 season with Nielsen but when they stepped up to do LMP2 at Le Mans, he did that too. The following year he moved to Algarve Pro and worked on one of the (then) G-Drive cars for the season, including at Le Mans. So the two years that I couldn't get to Le Mans (2020 and 2021) he was there..... ;) More recently he's been working on a particularly smart 'green' car...... ;)IMG_9755 (1000 x 750).JPG

Sadly not any more. He's married now with a kiddie on the way, so had to be responsible and get a 'proper' job....... with Aston Martin..... ;)

And for the record, here is my other one (he's the one with the big beard..... ;)).

Yes, that is something that I'd like to see in the near future. So far PC2/AMS2 looks the best. ACC they're stiff, probably because it's hand animated instead of mocap.
 
A simulated pit crew would add more realistic elements to the game and complete the experience! It adds more emotion and feeling. Please implement it (like in ACC or better in rennsport, for example).
 
ACC in the early days had a fully populated pit lane. They took it out soon so only the own pit crew stayed.

I mean I would be happy to have a gut in front of my car when leaving the pit who is looking like a man and not like a cardboard cutout

For me animation is not a deal breaker but for sure it would be nice with crew in the pits. Now it is very empty and feels sort of like an abandoned place
 
I would record the choreography of a pit stop with real WEC mechanics using those motion capture markers that are attached to the actors’ bodies, just like EA does when capturing the movements of real football players for their FIFA games.


 
Hmmm, I won't be holding my breath on EVER having any of the stuff suggested in all prior posts above, being done.....
That is a real list of dreams.
Not that any of it is 'wrong' and all would be GREAT....... it is just never going to happen. ('never' might be a bit rich, but for now that seems the most likely)
 
This feature would be really nice to show when your pitstop is complete, if you have your HUD on minimal or removed like I usually do
 
I came across an interesting statistic a few weeks ago. 12% of GT7 players have tried multiplayer and 9% play multiplayer regularly.

It looks like LMU is heading to consoles. I can’t imagine console players in 2026 will accept a glowing red box as a pit crew replacement.

If 397 wants to succeed in the console market, it will need to provide a compelling single player experience, and that includes realized pit crews.

Codemasters provided pit crews for player and AI in 2009. No reason not to do so in 2026.
