Moddable HUD

The UI code is right there in the S397 folder in AppData.
Maybe someone is crazy enough to mod it.
I tried for 30min to get rid of the transition screen, but it was unclear if the code I modified was the one running

Let's hope the whole UI is still under construction

Hi Devs , I am sure this has already been mentioned so if it is please delete this request.

- Would it be possible to add a feature to be able to move the HUDs around and also its size?
- Select which specific HUD to have on/off ( Unless this is already in the game? )
I'd love to be able to get rid of the gear / tyre display and just have the battery charge / usage

Just a note to say I play without the HuD on, because I find it such an immersion-killer.

However, there needs to be some things that are communicated by system message or by the engineer in this instance please.

I managed somehow to get a black flag in a race and had absolutely no idea why. And when you do, there's no way to find out and the race doesn't even finish, you can just keep driving indefinitely.

I think you can use SimHub, and a plugin for LMU, that will give you the penalty information, so that means you can turn off the LMU HUD (totally) and use an OVERLAY from SimHub to show you whe messages.
I have not checked if you can show ALL messages, but you can definitely show the penalty information - like what penatly, how many laps left until you must serve it etc.
I think it can do yellow flags too - but they are probably done on the LMU in-car "DDU" for each WEC car anyway.

Some data would come from the SimHub inbuilt plugin right away, and the rest is probably best attained by using the NeoRed plugin.
Plus, an even "better" addon for sim racing is to use Simhub and feed your mobile phone, or a tablet, as another "DDU"/screen - to show all and ANY information you could possibly want extra.
For eg, I have a tablet with the complerte field leaderboard, with gaps, last and best lap times (for all cars), class and postions per class also.
These 'extra' bits of information would be avialaibe to the real drivers, evcen if some, or a lot, is via radio from the pit crew/engineer. So having it available - whether Crew Chief or a phone/tablet etc, is still realistic really.

I don't like using external tools for overlays. Having the ability to separate the throttle and break and battery bars to be in the middle of my screen sideways or vertical would be awesome. Along with the speed to be fair

Well, you are best to begin to 'like' SimHub, LOL.
That is an incredible 'must have' tool for ALL sims really (and many other games).
It gives you a massive list of things, almost anything, you could ever want to have - especially for the things that a game does not give you, or do 'right' or well.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has an option to separate the HUD from each car and display it at the bottom centre of the screen (similar to what SimHub does, but without the need to run the game in borderless fullscreen or windowed mode).

This could be a good alternative to the lack of a customisable HUD in LMU.

I"ve seen questions about mirrors and which ones you should or can have in the car. It never really bothered me until I discovered that the rear facing camera screen on the AMG is obscured almost entirely by the hud. I disabled the hud speedo and rev counter which was great because I could see the screen but then quickly realised that tyre temps and damage indicators were gone of course. SO...the ability to move or resize some of the HUD items would be greatly appreciated by all, I'm sure.

It’s mind blowing you can’t customize the HUD in this game. I play in VR, so for example the lap timer is blocking my rearview mirror. It’s difficult to focus my eyes on it with the rearview image there as well. I can’t move the lap timer or any other hud element down, and the only options are to scale it or move them in or out, which impacts every other HUD element. Just copy and paste iRacings implementation….the round wheel has already been invented and this game is using a square wheel.

Temporarily you can disable the HUD (cycle HUD key) and use an external HUD like Tinypedal.

A detailed HUD placement would be really very nice, especially in VR.
Please decouple car damage block from the tachometer at least please. Btw, allow mouse cursor, to make it easier in VR, for shifting overlays with Openkneeboard.

The "Last Lap" and "Checkered Flag" indicators need to be larger!

In general, the engineers' messages need to be larger!

People overlook them, and then things like this near-accident happen because the driver thought it was over (he apologized in the chat for his misunderstanding) due to his driving.

Look here what happens whenn HUD / Messages are too small...

For me in VR it was very much helping to just change the scale for the VR-HUD in the game. Since then, the HUD elements are more at the edge, out of the main focus area. Nice bonus fact, the radar is much bigger and more present.

Hello, is there any news to expect soon ?
it's one of the biggest request on the forum, and after 2 years we dont have a single information...
If we could resize the HUD it would be already a very cool upgrade.
