Moddable HUD

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I thought I'd add it anyway: Would really love to be able to hide ONLY the delta, but keep all the rest of the information on that widget (estimated laps, etc.). I am aware that it's a me problem, but I just find the delta really distracting and always have it off, even now despite missing out on all that other info that is really useful.

So if the devs are bored enough one day(I know you're too busy to do silly things like this), please consider allowing us to disable the delta only (so the red/green as well as the realtime delta +/- time).
I would like the option to hide the delta too. Some days I really want to race but feel rubbish. However I race anyway, put in a good lap early, then get slower progressively. Watching that lap delta change from green to mostly red lap after lap is quite demoralising. If that's why you'd like it hidden I suggest a post it or small piece of paper taped to your monitors border to hide the delta. I also turn off the spotters voice, all he really does is announce lap times.

The current HUD is built on the legacy rF2 system, which I'd imagine they have full intentions of replacing. So why spend time coding modifications to a system you're going to ditch?

Early access implies there'll be things like this.
Fair.

This request was certainly stillborn - at least in terms of the early-access phase.
It affects so many players and is independent of specific hardware equipment. It is therefore a universal programming task.
You wouldn't need a GUI to begin with - parameterization in an ini file would suffice. Showing or hiding part 1, moving it with an offset of 200 pixels - that's not rocket science and you wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel here.

Clearly with however it's been implemented it's not a 30 second job or it'd have been done already.

You are right, it could be a whole day of work! Or it is a whole week in case of bad code-organisation. Or since your reply is from beginning of 2024 it is probably 2 years of work...

For those running a low FOV and/or running without a visible steering wheel, it would be great to have a HUD mode with all the information (including the fancy info for Hypercars) displayed in a single block in the centre of the screen. Now there's basic HUD, Full HUD, no HUD. Just add one more: compact HUD, maybe?

For inspiration, look at this HUD mod for rF2. And imagine if this had all the TC/slip/lap target lights and rev lights and essential info included!

Hi team,

First off, thank you for your great work on Le Mans Ultimate. I'm really enjoying the sim, but I have a couple of feature requests that would significantly improve the experience—especially for those of us racing in VR.
  1. Delta Bar
I'm really missing the delta bar! It's such a helpful tool for tracking performance lap-by-lap, especially in competitive sessions. A live delta display would really enhance consistency and pace management.
  2. Movable and Scalable UI Panels (especially for VR)
In VR, screen real estate and placement are everything. It would be amazing to be able to:
    • Move HUD/UI panels around freely
    • Scale their size depending on visibility and comfort
This would allow for a much more immersive and customizable VR experience.

Greetings everyone!

Just found out the line in the SETTINGS file to disable that ugly round gear and speed from the HUD, its called "Driver Overlay Car Info", bad thing it also disables the tyre and car damage graphic since its all the same part of the HUD, hope some time soon we can modify everything from HUD within the game!

This.

I can concentrate much more on the track if I hide delta. But that also hides the gear overlay, which I need, especially in the prototypes with steering wheel off.

If moving the HUD elements is difficult to development, even just to ability to turn off message verbosity would be great. In VR, the race control messages are in the middle bottom, blocking the track. I do not need to know when it is 10 minutes to go, 5 minutes to go... And the ability to change the duration of the messages would be great as well. The worst part, the message duration timer pauses when you turn off the HUD. So if a message pops up, turn off the HUD, then turn it back on later, the message is still there.

Hi Devs , I am sure this has already been mentioned so if it is please delete this request.

- Would it be possible to add a feature to be able to move the HUDs around and also its size?
- Select which specific HUD to have on/off ( Unless this is already in the game? )
YES! also for OLED health this is very necessary. Also the graphics are way too big, being able to resize them would be great

Movable and resizeable overlays are a must have at the era we are in! :)

I suggest also relative to be apart from the MDF, totally independent for us to choose where we want it and be always available to see, it's important ! The fact that we need to go to other menus we don't see the relative always. In my opinion we NEED this.

Thanks for the Amazing work S397 is doing with the Best Simulation atm !!!

I would like to see the damage hud, plus temps and the general standings represented in the mfd too. The normal standings could fit in the same view as the delta to the cars in front and back, with an option to switch between those two. The option to scroll through the standing would fit well too. Needed functionalities are all already there on other mfd sides. Also, the last lap time of my opponents would make sense in the delta view, just like in the big standings view it could show for some seconds and then switch back to the delta.

This way i could just use the mfd in VR, without loosing information or the need to have unnecessarily big hud elements. To improve it even further, a button to show or hide the mfd or at least switch to its off state. I mean, not the one to switch between the hud. :)
When switching back on, it should go to the last opened mfd side.
