LMU Suggestions for Improvement

Hi everyone,
First of all, I want to say that you’re doing a great job. Unfortunately, there are a few minor issues that make the experience less than ideal for players, and I hope I can offer you some food for thought. To keep things clear, I’ll break this down into sections.

1. Championships

1.1. Participants

Currently, anyone can leave the Championship at any time and rejoin with a different car. Yes, the points are deducted, but that doesn’t make it any better. More and more participants are signing up with the car that currently has the best BOP rating for each track. These players don’t play a role in the Championships, but they ruin the Championships for other players because their placement affects the point distribution. There is an urgent need for action here.

I understand that you want full splits to make the game fun for players, but in the long run, you’re taking that fun away, and I’ve already heard from many that their motivation is dropping because of this.

1.2. Benefits

Currently, there’s no real benefit to participating in the championship. What about small certificates for the top 10? This could even be done digitally. How about x months of Race Control for the winners, etc.? There’s currently no reward for participating.

2. Driving Standards

You have great netcode that allows for close battles and exciting racing. Unfortunately, this also leads to some really dirty racing on the track. People try to pass where it doesn’t make sense. There are so many crashes, and players aren’t learning from them.

Your Badge and SR systems aren’t enough, as they aren’t punitive enough. Unfortunately, we have to look to iRacing as a competitor here.

For example, you could educate players through the repair time. Currently, it’s so short that there’s hardly any penalty for wrecking the car. Especially for endurance races—which you’re known for—this duration makes absolutely no sense.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions, in the hope that the developers will see them.

Are there no certificates any more? I know I got some for the first couple of championships when they first started. I only ever manage to do a couple of rounds these days but assumed that the top 10 still got them? Agree with the car change point. I’m doing a few rounds in the LMP3 championship. I signed up in the Ligier, did the first round and have been stuck with it while the rest of the field drives Ginettas…. Maybe only one chassis change should be permitted?

There have been no certificates in the last 2–3 seasons.
The idea of a one-time car change would be a compromise. Nevertheless, the points should be rescinded.

Hello, there is dedicated thread for game feature-request ;)
To be fair the above is less feature requests and more talking about what maybe doesn't work well currently, so I'll leave it here. But yes, good suggestion for actual (individual) feature requests.

@bjopie since it's been addressed on discord, I'll mention here for the benefit of others that the points are working fine, if not totally clearly. Points for each round aren't whole numbers, so there'll be slight rounding affecting displayed totals, and for this example the number of drop rounds wasn't taken into account.

For the points it was my fault because i dont know that there r 2 drop round at the moment. The rounding r not rly clear to me :p

But the rest is still open. Thy 4 your fast reply Lazza

There’s another point to consider.
Not all penalties that are handed out are shown in the league table.
I hope they’ve simply forgotten to enter them.
Otherwise, it might give people cause for concern.

For the point you made about championships, what could happen if someone does decide to swap manufacturer, they are disqualified from entering the next race as a penalty as well as losing points 🤔🤔

I really miss the old RF2 feature where you could click on a driver (myself or someone else) in the menu and see every lap they completed and their lap times in a window. As a fellow competitor in events, it allows you to see your own and your opponents' consistency and draw several conclusions.

If you wanna swap car during championship, you'll have to retrire from the championship and register with a new car.
But it will be considered as a new subscription and therefore, your new subscription will start with 0 point
