LMU Pitwall — Open Source Real-Time Dashboard for Your Second Monitor

Hello everyone,

I’ve just released a new version of LMU Pitwall: the Proximity Widget. It shows the drivers in your immediate vicinity, so you
can keep track of battles and what’s happening on the track without having to constantly stare at the overall standings.

What it does:
• Two modes – "Battle" (drivers by standings position) and "Relative"
(drivers nearest on track, with an estimated time gap)
• Times shown as absolute (with session-best / personal-best colouring) or
as a delta relative to you (green = faster, red = slower)
• Smart gaps – laps/time behind leader in races, best-lap deltas in
practice & qualifying
• Configurable: pick 1–3 drivers above/below you, toggle the columns you
want (position, sectors, laps, gap)

Download / changelog:
Release v1.1.26

I’d be glad if you could test the widget and give me some feedback. I’m not driving much at the moment

LMU Pitwall v1.2.0

no plugin required any more (free, open source telemetry dashboard)

Quick recap for anyone who hasn't come across it: LMU Pitwall is a free, open-source real-time dashboard for Le Mans Ultimate. It runs on your racing PC and serves a browser dashboard you can open on a second monitor, a tablet or a phone — tyres, fuel, damage, weather and wind, track map, proximity/relative, a fuel and virtual-energy calculator, post-race results, and a text-to-speech Race Engineer that calls out flags, fuel, tyre wear, pit windows, pace and weather changes.

🔌 No plugin required any more

Pitwall now reads Le Mans Ultimate's own shared memory (LMU_Data) instead of the rF2 Shared Memory Map Plugin. Nothing to download, and nothing to reinstall after every game update.

One setting still matters: Settings → Gameplay → Enable Plugins → ON, then restart Le Mans Ultimate.

📊 Fuel, virtual energy and tyre wear in online sessions

LMU's multiplayer result files carry no fuel, VE or tyre-wear values at all, so those columns always stayed empty after an online race. Pitwall now records the values live while you drive and merges them into the results on import.

This covers your own car only. LMU doesn't publish fuel, VE or tyre wear for anyone else online, so the other drivers keep showing lap times, sectors and pit stops, and nothing more. Offline results are unchanged: there the result file already carries everything, for the whole field.

Online results also no longer mix in other drivers. In multiplayer every human is flagged as "the player" in the result file, which was quietly blending strangers' laps into your own history and into the Fuel Calculator.

🔧 Fixes

  • Tyre wear the result file doesn't state now reads as unknown instead of 100%
  • Cars in the pit lane stay out of the Relative order
  • The Race Engineer stays quiet about tyres when the wheel data looks wrong

@Swizz

LMU reports VE for other HY and GT3 cars, other classes do not report fuel. They did before v1.3, so am hoping this returns. Have checked v1.4 and the data is still not there.

VE data is actually being delivered in real time across all vehicles (that have VE). I’m still checking whether the data is reliable and whether I can save it correctly for all drivers. The question, of course, is how long LMU will continue to provide this data at all - the trend seems to be that in online races, less data is provided rather than more.

It's reliable, I've been using it for a while. Just not sure if it is here to stay and if they have removed LMP2 and LMP3 intentionally.

LMU Pitwall v1.2.2

- The track map, redrawn. Car positions now come from the 100 Hz telemetry stream and are interpolated between frames, so cars move at your monitor's refresh rate instead of hopping along in 200 ms steps. The map also shows the three sectors with start/finish and sector lines, a local yellow colouring the sector it applies to, track and sector lengths, elevation range, climb per lap and an elevation profile over one lap. A new Detail Level setting (Compact / Medium / Full) picks how much of that you want to see.

- Virtual energy for the whole field in Post-Race Results after online races. LMU's multiplayer result files carry no consumption data at all, so Pitwall samples it live while you drive. Fuel and tire wear stay your own car — online, LMU publishes neither for anybody else.

What is this best viewed on? I have a couple of choices. A Microsoft Surface 12", Prechen 15" monitor (requires USB, Mini-HDMI, and a power cable), or should I shoot for an iPad? Where should it be mounted relative to my 27" triples?

That’s the beauty of it: You can display LMU Pitwall anywhere. A larger screen is certainly useful, but you can also use two screens. For example, one showing just the track map, and one showing the standings. Your racing PC streams the data to one of your internal IP addresses, and you can view it anywhere in your home using a browser. That way, when you’re racing, your family can follow along too :)
You can see the IP address in the top-right corner of LMU Pitwall.

Here's another screenshot of the new TrackMap and the new details (currently a yellow flag in my sector)

Can you please ad pitstop outcome place on trak and virtual energie (lmp fuel ) of other drivers. And pitstops (tyre change time etc ) of other driveres @Swizz

Thanks for your messages. I suggest we stick to English so everyone can follow along. Otherwise, please send a PM. I'll take another look at the LMU telemetry when I get a chance, but I don't think there is anything else available. I don't do endurance races, so someone else would have to provide info on that.

I can of course adjust the text colors, or rather, add an option to customize them. No problem. I just need to find some time first :)

Oh, sorry, I had the browser translation enabled by mistake. I saw a point there mentioning something about drivers and players, which is why I asked.
