The first couple of years I went I snatched a few hours sleep in the car park. After the Win Percy Jaguar crash in 1987 I decided not to sleep during the night again. It became my mantra - You have 364 other nights during the year to sleep, so this is the one that you can afford not to sleep through. I managed to keep that going until 2024 when age and other things finally made it impossible to stay awake all night. Now I plan to catch a decent few hours of the racing at night and then retire to my 'pit' for a few hours before heading back to the action. I suspect that only a small percentage of the crowd actually make it all the way through the 24 hours without sleep. There are a lot of 'nodding dogs' in the grandstands on Sunday afternoon! ;)

ONLY number 39?!? Come on man, what are you doing with your life, you should have reached race number 40 ages ago 😂. Hope you have an AWESOME time!!!
 
On a different note, my wife thinks Ferrari will win the Hypercar category again this year, though we're both hoping for a Toyota win. But we were both ecstatic when car 83 won last year, Kubica is an absolute legend. I honestly wish a team other than Ferrari or Toyota takes the Hypercar win this time. Would be great to see a Peugeot, Alpine, or Cadillac take the win for a change.

Well said! And hope you find a friend who has the same enthusiasm for endurance racing as you 😀. My wife's boss said he would rather shoot himself in the head than watch a 24 hour race. But I've managed to get my cat interested in it, he likes to watch with us.

Well, there are people who like to see 22 guys running behind a ball on a green field, apparently it's a thing. To each their own, but you can't deny 2 things:

- In soccer, "fans" destroy half a town, especially stuff that has nothing to do with their sport.
- In Sportscar racing - or racing in general - you have no agression whatsoever.

For me that's the argument that wins all arguments when I need to "defend" my sport.

Fair points! We have soccer hooligans here as well as patriotic rugby supporters. But noone that causes mayhem when Ferrari wins Le Mans. Although burning tyres is a national pastime in this country, not sure if that counts 😂
 
I've seen, unfortunately ill have to eat a few days or a week to watch the race. But hopefully they put qualifying on yt unlike last year
 
No team is going to show what they can do anyway, because BOP changes are around the corner. It's just to make sure everything works like the entire pitlane without shortages or electricity outings and stuff.

Already down to 3:27.8 - last year best was 3:26.246. But you're right, they won't be going much quicker if at all. Aston is already over a second quicker than TD last year.
 
So, predictions anyone? Just for a bit of fun.

My head is saying a Toyota win this year. My heart an Aston win, preferably the 007 with the three Brits, but love the 009 drivers too.

- So for me, 007 Aston overall.
- No.30 Duqueine in LMP2. Although this one is even harder to predict than Hypercar with the plethora of factory drivers this year.
- No.21 Ferrari are going to get it this year in LMGT3.
 
Hoping for a Toyota Hypercar win. But any team other than Ferrari would be great in my books.

For the LMP2's, no real preferences as I don't know the teams that well. But I like the Aston Heart of Racing Team for GT3's.

All that being said, any team that performs well and fairly deserves a win. A team that combines good strategy, good driving, and great teamwork with everyone involved should take the win.
