Le Mans 24 Hours 2026

Whatever Rob. You come into a thread specifically about Le Mans and people who are going and the only thing you can come up with (which you presumably think adds some kind of value to the thread) is saying it isn't as good as the Nurburgring, even disparaging the people in France compared to their German neighbours. I'm not defending anything, I'm just talking about going to an event but you have to butt in as you always do with your half full and opinionated glass. And don't try and defend yourself with only talking about driving the track when you've already put down the scenery, the people and the location... I desperately try and take your posts on here at face value and to see something of merit in them, but I'm really struggling to see why I don't just employ the 'ignore' button like others have suggested. I'm sure you could be a nice bloke if you weren't such an insufferable arse.
My advice... some people aren't worth trying to reason with.

The guy should be studied at this point. But please people, just put him on ignore.

Back to positive thoughts and excitement about the coming race. One year I’ll get there, but regardless just absolutely cannot wait for the race. The week and a half long build up just makes it, (although exhausting for everyone involved in the event of course) helped by the fact that this year I have these 2 weeks off, culminating with the race before I have to go back to normality.

Best of luck to everyone going, hope it’s a great event for you all. The special liveries this year are looking awesome so far. Little sad there’ll be no Porsche’s taking it to the Ferrari’s this year. I’m struggling to see which other manufacturer after Toyota has the potential to, but then BOP has been much improved this year. Really hoping Aston are up there. Oh, and of course looking forward to the LMU announcements regarding the future for the sim.

Safe journeys to everyone going.

Using the ignore button and then miss out on all this glorious bullsh*t? Never 😂

I'm an oldschool forum user since the late 90's (with zero social media accounts)... I'm sure I'll manage without an ignore function 😉

And like Ayse said, might be a nice bloke if we'd had the opportunity to have a pint

All power to you, but the more you reply the more it just encourages and clogs up what this thread is actually about! This is now a whole page about Rob, apart from my post that tried to at least get it back on track, which lasted… zero posts. And now ironically here I am talking about it again… I’m all for engaging in debates, discussions etc, but he’s simply here to poke fires absolutely everywhere in this forum. It’s all very well having him on ignore, but when so many people reply to him and “feed him” so to speak, it’s hard to filter through the bullshit.

Call me Gen X but I'm not a fan of alternate liveries for LM, it makes it hard to recognize who is who, and Ferrari's should be either red or yellow.

Which they will probably be, outside of GT3.

I'm all the way down in South Africa and will probably never make it to Le Mans, but I wish everyone who is travelling there safe travels and an awesome experience. I'll be with you guys in spirit 😀. Mr Aysedasi, is this your 40th trip?

My wife (who may like endurance racing more than me) and I make it a thing each year to make something special to eat at home for the two race days. We isolate ourselves from the world completely, open up our recliner couch, and enjoy the heck out of every single minute. Last year we tried to stay awake for all 24 hours - and failed 😂. May I ask how much you guys manage to actually stay awake for? I estimate my wife and I get about 18 hours of the race.

When I was younger I used to be able to zone in and out throughout the night, but now I'm way past 40, I just go to sleep around midnight and wake up again around 6.

Break for dinner and breakfast obviously. So not very unlike the people trackside.

No, only #39...... ;)

The first couple of years I went I snatched a few hours sleep in the car park. After the Win Percy Jaguar crash in 1987 I decided not to sleep during the night again. It became my mantra - You have 364 other nights during the year to sleep, so this is the one that you can afford not to sleep through. I managed to keep that going until 2024 when age and other things finally made it impossible to stay awake all night. Now I plan to catch a decent few hours of the racing at night and then retire to my 'pit' for a few hours before heading back to the action. I suspect that only a small percentage of the crowd actually make it all the way through the 24 hours without sleep. There are a lot of 'nodding dogs' in the grandstands on Sunday afternoon! ;)

Your lucky i can't find anyone where I live who enjoys endurance racing.
