Known Issue [Input] Losing FFB between sessions

This issue is known and being investigated by the developers.
I tested the driver for 3 hours today.
There was no FFB loss.

Guys, I'm having a very annoying issue with my Thrustmaster T500RS. I've played LMU without this issue since the game was launched, but this past weekend, I decided to format my PC and reinstall every software, LMU included obviously.

But since this formatting, I started to have this annoying issue, where my FFB simply disappear between sessions. I've already have the "Reset FFB" button set, but this is ineffective to solve the problem. The only solution I managed to see working is, in the middle of the session, to turn the power cord of the wheel off and plug it in again, and then press the "Reset FFB" button... But, if this issue happens between qualy and race, I get my race ruined, because this process makes me drive slow and I just finished a race where I got a drivethru for driving to slow, when I realized I had lose FFB and did the procedure while the grid was already going to the racing start....

If anybody knows how to solve this, I'll be much appreciated!!!

Cheers,
Bruno Fabiano
I don't know if this has been already said but I have the same issue and the only solution that I found was to check when I pop on the grid to start the race if I have my FFB OK. If not, I press ESC, get back to garage then drive again. It works fine for me ATM.

Although you quoted me in another post I thought I would reply to you hear.
Your suggested solution does not work for my T500RS or my TSPC racer.
If it did, I would use it.
But it doesn't.

Did you update the firmware after installing the driver? Check the firmware version that is suitable for your steering wheel from the link I gave above. I have not had any FFB loss so far.

I have to write a little rant about it here.
We have 2 different computers, each with a Thrustmaster T150 Pro steering wheel.

I bought the game twice in early access. Right from the start, random Forcefeedback disconnection problems : but always at the start of a session, most of the time after qualifying, when the grid is set for the race. Very often also as soon as you enter the garage. Never in the middle of a session. The button assigned to the Forcefeedback reset has no action at all : the steering wheel is active, the buttons work, but the FFB has completely disappeared. Each time we have to disconnect the steering wheel (usb plug) and reconnect it. This is very annoying when it happens on a race, as we also lose the brake pedal calibration, which we have to redo after reconnecting the USB plug.

We waited for over a year, thinking that the developers had this problem in mind and were going to fix it. NOTHING. With each update, no improvement.
I should point out that this problem only occurs in LMU. Never had a problem in any other game.

We tried everything possible: reinstalled the drivers and firmware, tried on other USB ports (directly on the tower), unchecked “allow standby on this device” on USB ports like the steering wheel, unplugged all other USB devices, tried with the old 2018 Thrustmaster drivers... Still the same problem.

What do developers need to take this problem seriously? We've been patient, but apparently we're not the only ones with this problem. The game is difficult to play for us because of the problems outlined above. Should we widen the communication on other forums, put negative reviews so that this bug is fixed!
We'd love to hear back from the developers about the status of this bug, or other possible fixes. But now!

The devs investigated this, had a dedicated section on discord, had a number of TM users testing with diagnostic software. They identified the issue was with the TM drivers, and are awaiting a fix from TM.

That's why it's a known issue per that other thread, and why nothing has happened yet.

*I've removed your post from the other thread; there's nothing to be gained by duplicating it across threads.

Tell you now this isn't limited to TM users and it just limited to changing session, I'm a Moza user and I can guarantee every time I use LMU i will get at least one time I have to open menu turn off ffb anf turn it back on again to cure it, never had it during a race or actually while driving, but if I pause game go into menu and then go back to track some times the ffb has just gone, its nothing to do with drivers or software its a LMU thing for some reason, and even a year down the road they still haven't cured it like a few other long standing issues.

You're just having a rant now?

There's an issue with 3 TM wheels (just the 3? Not sure, but 3 keep coming up), related to the drivers.

There might be some dropouts with others, that's not related to this specific issue.

I have an SC2 and if I move to another window the game FFB is lost, but "Reset FFB" fixes it. There are so many combinations of hardware and drivers, there's going to be different experiences all over the place.

You don't need to tell me, or anyone else, anything.

I have both the TSPC racer and the T500RS and both go down the same way as described by yoko and nomad.
Sure would like to see a fix.

sorry Lazza
in my case "reset FFB" never solved the problem.
I fear that the issue is that the developers - who I respect, unfortunately have not yet understood what causes the anomaly, or have understood it but consider it too expensive to rewrite that part of the code.
I have been using a TMX with BeamNG, AC, ACC and also with the new AC Evo for years, no loss of FFB.
It would be interesting to know what Thrustmaster thinks when it comes to "driver problems"...

I'm taking no offense, because I never said "Reset FFB" will fix the issue. This is what happens when people drag a specific statement to cover all issues, when it was never meant to. (not you, to be clear)

I would imagine Thrustmaster has been contacted already, as part of the testing. But I'm not a dev, so I can't confirm.

I have a similar issue, using a Moza R5.
Sometimes when the car loads into the track it has no FFB. The onscreen telemetry does register the FFB signals being sent but the wheel doesnt respond.
Going into the menu options and in FFB settings turn it off/on fixes it but if I didnt detect it before the race starts and the cars actually starts to move it ruins the entire race.

It happens sporadically, Ive not seen a pattern to it, and it happens both in single/multi and all different sessions (prac, quali, race).

Just wanted to give a little update.
The past week or so ive experienced this much less than before for whatever reason, and I also realise that if I load into a session and the FFB is gone, pressing the "Reset FFB" button does start it up again!
So at least for me this is no longer ruining my races.

Any news of this how to fix it ? Its last now for more then 6 months. I can't even play the game anymore without unpluging the wheel. I played the game a long time before without any issue. I realy want support your game but at the moment its not enjoyable anymore during this ffb loss. Pressing the reset button dont work at all.

I had the same issue. Using a Simucube 2 Pro, updated the latest software today.
I thought it was between the only sessions (Qualy to Race) but then had the same issue in offline training. I think it happens when you tab out of the game and tab back in. I will try the "reset ffb" button.

Yeah, switching out (I use second desktop for stability, but same thing) kills the FFB on my sc2, but reset FFB fixes it every time.

i got this from thustmaster tech support

We thank you for contacting Thrustmaster Technical Support.

The Thrustmaster T500 is a legacy product, it is possible that the developers of the Le Mans Ultimate has not used the SDK files (the files used to implement the devices) of this product.

We invite you to contact the developers of the game to know if they will implement the Thrustmaster T500 SDK in the game.

We wish you a nice day and remain at your disposal for any further questions.

Best regards,
Victor, your Thrustmaster agent.
