Known Issue [Input] Losing FFB between sessions

This issue is known and being investigated by the developers.

Guys, I'm having a very annoying issue with my Thrustmaster T500RS. I've played LMU without this issue since the game was launched, but this past weekend, I decided to format my PC and reinstall every software, LMU included obviously.

But since this formatting, I started to have this annoying issue, where my FFB simply disappear between sessions. I've already have the "Reset FFB" button set, but this is ineffective to solve the problem. The only solution I managed to see working is, in the middle of the session, to turn the power cord of the wheel off and plug it in again, and then press the "Reset FFB" button... But, if this issue happens between qualy and race, I get my race ruined, because this process makes me drive slow and I just finished a race where I got a drivethru for driving to slow, when I realized I had lose FFB and did the procedure while the grid was already going to the racing start....

If anybody knows how to solve this, I'll be much appreciated!!!

Cheers,
Bruno Fabiano

Do you have +trace enabled? You can also enable +logextra and it will give more information. It should give info about the wheel.
What happens when you press the reset ffb button the first time? Just nothing?

Coutie,
when the game loses ffb, nothing happens when I hit the FFB Reset Button... The only way to recover the ffb is that one I already described... Basically, turn off the power to the wheel and turn on right after... But, depending on which session I'm, this can have disastrous effect...

Where can I enable these "+ trace" and "+logextra" options???

Cheers

Add them to the Launch Options input field in the General tab of the Steam Properties for the game.
Space separated, without the space between + and trace:
Code:
+trace +logextra
IIRC you can increase the trace verbosity by setting a level between 0(disabled) and 3(very verbose) like so:
Code:
+trace=3 +logextra

I have a similar issue with my T500rs changing between sessions or restarting a race and sometimes while loading a new race.
I can't offer any solutions to you, but thanks for the info about restarting the wheel and resetting FFB.
I didn't know you could restart the wheel in game.
This is a valid workaround for me, as I only use singleplayer and can pause the game while doing it.
Thanks again hopefully they will fix this.

Same problem with my Trustmaster T150 => randomly forcefeedback loss between sessions. Most of the time between free practice session and qualification session. Need to unplug/replug the wheel, but i lose braking pedal setting (custom max braking force setting).
We have another PC with another T150, same problem.
Only appears in LMU.

For now set the reset FFB to a button that way you can reset it whenever it disappears.

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. I have the same problem. I have a Thrustmaster tmx force feedback steering wheel. When I enter the pit during training, the FFB disappears and I have to unplug and plug the USB cable.

This problem needs to be solved as soon as possible.
I have a Thrustmaster tmx wheel.
Today the race will start in Interlagos online and the ffb disappeared again.
I unplugged and plugged the usb cable and it kicked me out of the game.
There is no problem in other games.
I think only Thrustmaster wheels cause this problem.
It usually causes problems after you have done a lap and come to the pits and it does not fix itself unless you unplug and plug the usb cable back in.

è uno schifo.......però ho scoperto che se metto in pausa il gioco e stacco/riattacco usb volante ritorna FFB senza essere buttati fuori... magari è un caso......

I don't think its just between sessions happens to me occasionally I have it starting a session and also if I go into the menu to change something come back out on track and no ffb.
