It's very simple. If 397 doesn't find a way to sell apples and oranges, players will enjoy them wherever they can be offered (iRacing is rubbing their hands together and preparing a pocket for the money). And you can continue eating raw potatoes and defending 397 for free. Thanks to free "lawyers" like you, the studio staff won't lift their asses from their chairs.
 
Not sure what you mean by "lawyers" but if I employ someone to do a job for me I don't expect them to spend their time doing work for other people regardless of whether or not they think like to do that.
I'm paying them to do my job and that's what I want done.

That was exactly what i said to my friend 2 days ago! We need EVERY ENDURANCE License as a DLC Pack! And at the End as cherry on top add Nürburgring and run 3x 24h virtual events just pn LMU! 😎🍻

That would be def worth money! would love to see that! 🍻

i didnt meant racing hypercars on ring… :D GT3 and GTEs… i know running only that would not be „multiclass“ like when hypers and lmps are on track as well… but 62 card on the track… could be fun as well :D

When WEC signs a contract with ADAC & NLS & whomever else controls the Ring, you might get your wish. But until then.....
 
I would buy an IMSA season pass in a heartbeat. Being in the US, IMSA is much easier for me to follow due to the time zone difference for many of the races in WEC. Even if it was only tracks, that's the part I care more about anyway.
 
I'm not holding my breath for an IMSA DLC pack, even though the MSG HQ is located in Miami, Florida...

AMS2 is doing ok to scratch my IMSA itch, and they recently released the Garage 56 Camaro.
 
Or just have other official GT race series integrated as DLC, to get the other interesting tracks in to the game. I think this would be a good compromise and possible.

When you have a product that is the official representative(game) of an organization(WEC) that group would probably not be interested in funding development that benefit other series. Because WEC shares the umbrella of organizations with ELMS and AsLMS, & Le Mans Cup. Those can be integrated fairly cheaply with existing contracts. But as you spread your net further away from WEC, you need more contracts, more licensing, more cross sponsorships. So hoping for any of the SRO circuits like Kyalami, Missano or even Bathurst is a pipe dream. (forget about all those ACC tracks completely)((that include Nords)) (((ESPECIALLY NORDS!!!)))

IMSA has had some agreements with WEC to allow some of the American cars to compete at Le Mans and then to codify the hypercars for equal competition. But that still falls short of the amount of agreements needed to bring the IMSA tracks to LMU. WEC would have to sign on. and probably IMSA would have to chip in some funds. Would they rather see their money go to a title that doesn't even include the term IMSA?

Finally, on the practical side of things: S397 has been struggling to release 1 track per quarter. How would they ever encompass all the IMSA circuits(something like 13 of them?)

Best case scenario would be to take the fully finished LMU code and get licensing agreements with IMSA to sell a completely different sim based soley on IMSA.

if LMU were an generic sportscar title, then sure, any track could POSSIBLY get licensed...much like AMS2 or ACE. But just as ACC was and IS limited to only circuits used by SRO series. so is LMU limited to ONLY tracks they(WEC) control. Of course IF IMSA got a sim, then we would have to repeat this thread all over again about how no World GT, or F1(outside of COTA) or BTCC tracks or V8Supercar tracks or Karting tracks, or Bobsledding tracks, or horse tracks just wouldn't be appropriate.

Sadly I'm totally agree, it would not expect so much expansion in terms of licensing, overall taking in count there is still so much to fix and polish. The current WEC environment is not finished yet, SC and FYC are mandatory to fulfill an endurance event.

I'd not put so much hopes on the scope, being ALMS also an exception and mayyyyybe 24h series championship, which one, whether I'm not wrong is handled also by ACO. With that confirmation, enough tracks and game strategies would be enough to get a great online experience filling splits and splitting people with their DR.

Not all is quantity, quality makes the difference.
 
I think it depends on how the game fares.

There will be numerous updates this year for ELMS new Toyota new Hyundai and updates on other cars, new Lambo GT3 coming and new Lexis end of year.

In the end there will be cars only and no tracks, that is when you might get updates from IMSA, it depends really on if 397 can get an agreement with Doonan, they might want their own licenced game and the be able to include MX5 cup, Pilot sport cup, Mustang challenge, Carrera Cup, there is actually far more content in IMSA series than in ACO based. Aswell as the main categories like GT, LMP2 and GTP

I can see LMU being ended and 397 releasing a standalone IMSA game in about 2028 or something maybe even 27. Costs a lot to licence tracks though, but there is more overall content to sell and we all know how 397 like to SELLLLL
 
Yes, for sure you are all right, but at the end it's always a matter of money. No contract is written in stone and maybe some dream comes true, if S397 is adapting a contract. I think they could get a lot of money with special DLCs.
In addition we all could do something for that. Maybe create a crowdfunding or petition for IMSA DLC. I know it sounds crazy, but why not.
 
Let's see what it's going on at march releasing 3rd chapter of ELMS and career mode, hopefully they will announce further steps (crossing fingers for agreements) and introductions.
 
Ergo IMSA allows iRacing and will allow others as long as its not an exclusive contract.
I just use rF2 for IMSA. I am glad to see Nick Boulle and Colin Braun on teams both former shifterkart racers from Texas.
No doubt LMU has a number of improvements I would pay extra to see in rF2 although I would bet the legacy files would have some missing attributes. I'll be happy with what I have for now.
