IMSA DLC

I know the devs are focussing on WEC. But it would a good move in terms of marketing. If they could obtain a licence, the potentions would be great. For example: Watkins Glen, Road America and Long Beach for the circuits and the Lexus and the Acura for the cars. The 12 hours of Sebring is part of the WEC and IMSA championships, so they must at least had contact with IMSA about adding Sebring. So setting it up wouldnā€™t be a problem i think. Bundle it in two DLC packs with Daytona for circuits and the Acura for the carsā€¦ bang, 1 DLC pack. After that the Lexus and Road Atlanta for pack 2 and maybe add Long Beach. Then it is ā€œ Shut up and take my moneyā€ for me!

Well, first of all, LMU is licensed with the FIA/WEC, not Nascar/IMSA. Further licensing could possibly be expanded, but requires both the permission of WEC but also the CASH needed to negotiate new licenses. You have read that MSG is losing money by the truckloads haven't you?

Negotiated individually by the track owners & totally separate from the WEC licenses. Most agreements completed before LMU entered the picture.
 
Yeah itā€™s a possibility, but donā€™t expect it for at least two years minimum at a guess. Depends on so many things.

Firstly, the financial situation of MSG. If LMU continues on the up, that will of course help this. Letā€™s say they get to version 1.0 at the end of this year. Have a new backer. The games future is secured. The game finally has all the features they want. We have the full 2025 season (Valkyrie and Merc GT3).

Our next content logically would be from within the ACO championships. So, ELMS. Letā€™s say that comes out mid 2026? From then on, itā€™s anyones guess. Thereā€™s ALMS, theyā€™ve spoken about classic contentā€¦ But I agree, going after the IMSA licence would make the most financial sense as that would bring a huge American audience to the game. Itā€™s very much a Euro title at the mo.

But both IMSA and ALMS would be huge undertakings for the team if they remain as small as they do, IMSA especially. Both championships have SRO spec GT3ā€™s, quite different to LMGT3ā€™s. The tracks. I canā€™t see ALMS being too difficult, thereā€™s usually just three rounds, but IMSA tracks are likely rather expensive and on top of Sebring there are 11 of them. It would be incredible and you certainly get an upvote from me, but I reckon itā€™ll be years away if it comes.
 
lmu is wec the way sro is acc. probably will never happen. Imsa is already represented heavily in iracing and ams2, with more imsa dlc coming to asm2 this year. ams2 will probably have the full grid and tracks. The only track left is Detroit.
 
That will be hard to happen since the group responsible with IMSA is not the same as WEC/ELMS/ALMS.

With that said was mention on the overtake thhat they would love to add the content, starting with the NASCAR car that run at Le Man.

So you can only hope and dream. ;)
 
Of course I would love this. The IMSA license to iRacing isn't exclusive as AMS2 also has the IMSA license and their most recent updates were IMSA centric. If this comes to LMU I'd love to see each and every track from that schedule, yes even the downtown Detroit GP circuit. It surprisingly creates some good racing, especially the run down to that hairpin.

I'm sure S397 are aware this is a big ask from LMU players.

This and Garage 56 would need some negotiation with NASCAR.
 
Bringing in IMSA would be a massive undertaking. There are 11 tracks that would have to be created, Yes Sebring already exists but the pit lane in the game matches the WEC event...not IMSA.
I know the USA fans would appreciate IMSA but the draw for many Europeans(LMU's largest % of users) would only be the additional tracks, not interest in the series itself.

The additional tracks would be worth it already. But we also get more livery options and I actually prefer the IMSA liveries to the WEC liveries generally speaking.
 
MSG and NASCAR, the owners of IMSA, have had a bad relationship with the failure of the NASCAR game (NASCAR Ignition) and I believe they are currently trying to mend it, so unless Garage 56 stock cars are added, I don't see any chance of an IMSA DLC.
 
Unless something has changed, I believe LMU is the result of a collaboration between MSG and the ACO; with each having a "roughly equal share" in the direction the game will take.
That would probably mean that the ACO have an input into what appears in LMU.
 
A common feature that a LOT of people would like to see in LMU is the addition of IMSA features. As far as I know a few other games have it as a feature and it would add a lot more content to the game. It would also make LMU the best competition to iRacing
 

IMSA DLC

I'm not sure, if its possible, but it would be absolutely great!! We need every single possible track, because LMU is very limited on tracks. (Of course, the cars and liveries would be nice too) Don't forget to upvote!! šŸ˜‰šŸ™

Make sure to search if your feature request is already high up on the list. Better to vote for that one and keep the votes high than create another thread for the same thing.
 
i know i know different series, BUT in my opinion that would be the best add on DLC. wouldn't mind paying top dollar for that! #imsa
