Summary:The game crashes to desktop (CTD) during single-player and multiplayer races, with audio glitches but no visuals except the loading screen.

Method of Reproduction:
  1. Launch Le Mans Ultimate.
  2. Start a single-player or multiplayer race.
  3. Wait until loading hits 100%
  4. Game crashes to desktop with bug splat (usually)
Expected Result:The race should load successfully without crashing.

Actual Result:The game crashes to desktop with a bug splat. Sometimes you hear a car engine or audio glitches, but there are never any visuals except the loading screen.

Frequency:Occurs in approximately 99 out of 100 attempts. On rare occasions when the race does load, it usually crashes very quickly after.

Steps Taken for Troubleshooting:

  • Fresh install of the game.
  • CEF mode 1 fix.
  • Disabled all plugins.
  • Tried the Discord alpha branch.
  • Cleared shaders.
  • Loaded the race with just one player.
  • Collaborated with the Discord community on multiple fixes.
System Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5700X3D
  • GPU: Intel Arc 770 16GB
  • RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200MHz
  • Storage: M.2 SSD

Attaching traces of last few crashes, no .dmp files found in userdata or userdata/log

Unfortunately this matches other reports regarding ARC graphics cards; not sure if there are fixes or workarounds yet. If you aren’t already try on minimum settings.

And as a more general tip, make sure you have virtual memory enabled and a decent size.

Thanks Lazza, appreciate the reply - I have done that too unfortunately. Here's hoping there will be a patch soon that will improve performance and stability of the game on intel cards. As it stands, I can't use the software at all.

Hi @Dan W appreciate your reply. I set Virtual Rearview to false in settings.json and just tried to load into a race with just me (singleplayer) and all 3 times crashed at 100. Is changing that sufficient, or is there a way to reset settings to stop it from appearing?

Also just tried VrMirror in the DX11config file, still crashing unfortunately even after deleting shader cache

Here are all the new traces

Yeah, bug splat still appearing each time. I almost always send them, but without a description. Under my email ryanmkestle@redacted

Hid your email address from public view (for your safety), if you put a name into bugsplat then please state it - Woodee.

When a Bugsplat crash occurs. Try completely rebooting your computer.(I'm not sure this will do anything, more out of curiosity) See if a complete reset removes the condition causing the CTD. Best of luck!

I bought the game yesterday and I have exactly the same problem. When loading screen go to 100%, game crashes to desktop and bug splat appears. I send them yesterday as a Grzegorz Lewczuk.
Rebooting computer doesn't change anything.
Hardware specs:
i7-12700H
ARC A770M
32 GB DDR4
M.2 SSD

I resolved my crashing problem yesterday by renaming (and thereby replacing) my settings.json file. Might be worth a try.

Good Morning Everyone - I appreciate the continued support with getting this working on intel cards.

@davehenrie - Unfortunately, restarting right after a bugsplat and then attemtping to launch the game once back into windows still resulted in bugsplat after CTD at 100% loading

@Aysedasi - Tried this previously, and tried it again today and game still crashes even after it creates a fresh settings.json file

@Dan W - Post processing already set to low in graphics settings

Let me know if there's anything else you would like me try. I've attached fresh trace files from my tests today

EDIT: I've also sent the reports via the error launcher each time under the same name

Thanks for confirming, I'll leave it with dev again tonight/tmrw morning and come back to you if we have any other ideas!

Could try:
- Clear the dynamic.cache file from Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\Log\Shaders
- Finding the Intel driver shader cache and clearing that also (not sure where it is but nvidia equiv is: AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache)

Thanks @Dan W - much appreciated.

I tried clearing LMU cache as well as Intel shader cache (C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\Intel\ShaderCache) and it is still crashing. I sent another bugsplat and I've attached the trace.

I suspect the ARC videocard is just different enough that all our regular 'fixes' won't address what is causing the problems. I hope the Devs can rech out to Intel to get some sort of clarity for gamers.

I found similar thread about rfactor2 on intel support community linked below. Fix is make no sense but is worth a try.
