Car specific FFB key assignment

In the context of LMU (and rF2), it is currently not feasible to map buttons directly to the vehicle-specific Force Feedback settings, a feature that is readily available in other simulations such as AC, ACC, and AMS2.

Consequently, when on the track, one must exit to the options menu to adjust this critical parameter, which hinders the ability to fine-tune the specific Force Feedback settings for each vehicle while in action.

Implementing this functionality should be relatively straightforward.

Oh they are short staffed.... but also not that overly capable either....
Put those two things to gether and you get...... exactly what LMU is...... (and lacks to be, and full of bugs and poor logic....).....

I don't really 'care' about S397 specifically, except they are some 'team/group' what wants to do X, with lacking money and lacking enough talent....
So we get what we get..... and not a lot more.....
Anything done is SLOW, half-baked usually, and that is not going to change. So you just use (or don't) what they have, and don't worry about 'dreams' of what should be...... or you will be perpetually disappointed.
 
Allez un petit effort Messieurs de LMU ! Faite nous un raccourci pour FFB+ et FFB- comme il existe dans les autres simulations.

That is a shame, even after yesterday's update, no per car FFB options, and the Hypercars have at least 10% weaker FFB in general.
There's been no mention of implementing this, so I wouldn't expect any change with updates, especially when it's not in the update notes.

This should be 100% default, but allow an adjustment of plus and minus.

The game produces FFB directly from the physics, and most of the cars have some aero effect, so FFB will tend to get stronger at some times and relatively weaker in others. Lowering sensitivity will only further reduce those weaker forces, so that's a negative... for what gain? What's the benefit of lowering sensitivity?
 
Perhaps your wheel software supports it?

I'm not sure about other brands, but simucube supports automatic profile switching.

You can set up each car with its own FFB profile. I would assume other brands have something similar.

The benefit is lower self aligning torque, those forces that pull back the wheel after cornering. Each user can adjust how they want it to feel in LMU, but currently only from 100% and upwards.
So, if a user feels like 100% is too much, and thinks, let me adjust it downwards a bit, then the user is faced with an adjustment that is less than effective because the range of adjustment is quite unusual from most range adjustments found for many other parameters.

Why giving the user full control over the range of adjustment would be seen as a "negative" is hard to comprehend.

I'll go out on a limb and say pretty much no one is tuning SAT with this setting. Based on everything I've seen, people are either happy with the FFB or want want want more low end forces. (and raise this setting, especially on lower end wheels, despite the compression)

I kind of get the "let me customise it how I want" motivation, but I also think devs are sometimes right to protect the users from themselves by not offering certain things. It's amazing how many times people complain about FFB or other things and then when they share their settings (if they do) you can spot exactly how they've ruined it.

FFB in this game tends to accentuate harsh inputs like kerb strikes. I just can't see how further increasing the contrast between those and the lower forces would be desirable, past just having something you can adjust both ways for the sake of it.
 
I’d love to see an FFB setting that can be mapped to the keyboard. On my wheel, the GT3’s force feedback requires about a 10% reduction compared to other classes. Having that adjustment be mappable would make it so much easier to tweak on the fly.
 
So, how would a user adjust the SAT in LMU ?
And if the answer is you can't, then I also satisfied, because I have found a somewhat suitable work around for excessive SAT.
