Beginner race splits - idea

Was thinking last night about how to make the "Beginner" race category a better place. I really like the 20 minute sprint and single-class races so this has been a conundrum for myself as a SR S3. Intermediate races and up just don't offer this.

Currently, the splits are divided based on DR. This means you can be racing against highly skilled, fast drivers with no regard for safety rating...you know, the idiots who use everyone as a brake and bully their way into corners...because who cares about SR? What if...what if...to encourage better driving...the splits in the Beginner races were based off of SR first and then DR?

Many of the fastest racers already have pretty decent SR ratings...at least Silver and above so it really would not impact them being in the top splits. I think it more impacts splits 2-5 where it would reduce the number of drivers who opt out of respecting others. It would likely reduce the overall "talent" in the top split as speed is not the priority...but this is the only Beginner category that exists and I think its prime focus should be on improving SR. Yeah, you'd likely see drivers with platinum SR racing Le Mans in the top split with a 4:30 personal best....but at least those top-ranked guys are not driving against idiots. Might actually push the aliens to choose Intermediate and above and leave this category for the slower drivers (DR BR3 and lower) to practice their racecraft.

What it would do is place a priority on safe racing in the Beginner category and would eliminate a lot of the crap you get in the top third splits. Would also encourage those with speed to consider driving more safely if they wanted to be in a higher split. Yes, you will get these idiots still winning the lower splits...but at least they'd be out front of everyone and not subject the safer drivers to their idiot moves. They can opt to go fast and crash on their own!

I would not impose this on Intermediate and higher races where a silver SR has already been earned. Those should remain sorted by DR.

Having a higher SR has to mean something more than simply being able to race Intermediates and higher. It should mean that you also able to race against safer drivers as you climb the ranks of BR.

OR...FORGET ALL THAT I'VE SAID AND GIVE THE SAME 20 MINUTE SPRINT RACES TO INTERMEDIATES!!!! THAT WOULD BE NICE!!! Would separate the riff from the riff-raff!

Yes, the DR/SR system needs some major changes!! Firstly in HOW they add, or subtact, points of both (more so for the DR). Then in how they USE that data to form race grids!

Even the Split 1 fields of Intermediate are full of 'clowns' who dive bomb and cause mass carnage into turn 1, or at ANY time around a race really. As soon as they are near another car they MUST find a wya past, whether truly valid in racing or not. They just MUST GET PAST!
So this shows how the DR/SR data is NOT built up correctly, plus not used coorectly to form that race grid anyway.

These 'clowns' also CAUSE big damage to the 'innocents' that they crash itno/with.... because LMU cannot even tell WHO was at blame, so ALL cars involved get penalised. let alone that the 'innocents' had their race position ruined, and often enough their car DAMAGED.... all for no goo/valid reason..... IF 'clowns' were not even able to be in those higher class races.

The way it is now it is such a poor system.... a joke of a system really.
With sim racing having been around for DECADES, you would think it wouldn't be that hard to design a DR/SR system that worked WAY better than this one!! I am sure there are a lot of complexities in how it needs to be done to overcome MOST issues it can have, but for sure it can be WAY WAY better than the way it is designed now!!
