The vast majority of people who enjoy these games don’t intentionally spoil others games they just make poor judgements or show poor skill. They may be new to the genre, be playing on single screens, low end equipment, occasionally race as they don’t have much time (I’m all of the above) but they are accidents. I don’t hold it against someone whom I’m racing if they spin out and make contact with me, it’s not intentional. We can’t all be great flawless drivers putting in massive time and effort for endless consistency and lap times. Could you imagine getting banned in ranked Overwatch because you died too many times in your last 5 games. Sorry you are not good enough to play this game - Banned. That’s the issue, banning is for unsportsmanlike and or purposeful wreckless behaviour, not because you aren’t very good. Auto banning for incidents is a lazy development choice, they could have added unranked lobbies for people who just want to race for fun, or to build up enough racing experience- racing AI is not the same as racing a human, how can you ever build up experience if you just get banned as you had a few spins had some off-tracks etc…
The point of a ranking system is to have low skilled people race low skilled people, there’s gonna be some bad driving for sure as that’s the nature of ranking, but to ban those people as they are low skilled that’s is terrible….
