Useless racers and unfair Bans.

Front of the pack has its dangers too - those at the back of the pack who forget to brake for T1 (any T1). Back of the pack and hang back for the first couple of turns is safest. If it's a long race the chances are you can make the time up, but for short races it means you won't be challenging for the win. Still, it's less frustrating than qualifying on front row only to get taken out on the first lap by a hot head behind.

The problem is that some decent racers hang back but then expect to be able to just carve their way through after the first 2-3 corners. You also then get the idiots who are flashing their lights at you on the first lap. I must map a button to tell them to 'Go forth and multiply'..... ;)

you cannot imagine how often i did wanted to map buttons for people behind me who try to overtake i wrong corners with „be smart - not now…“ and then when there is space „now you can pass“ 😂. i mean sometimes drivers from the first positions go out of track. these are very aggressive and they also catching up so fast that there is no reason to defend. but even i wouldnt defent i also refuse to lose 1/2sek in that lap because they dont want to wait for better opportunity to pass when we both will not lose so much time.. and for the other guys as i said: if i see risk to be hit by someone, i‘ll let them pass and then i just stay if possible max 0.2/0.3 behind them and try to do fake moves until they go off and i can drive normaö 😆

Light flashers are annoying - fine when you're a faster class, you're just letting me know you're there and will be passing soon, also fine if you're the same class and are lapping me but if we're fighting for position and even if it's obvious you're faster than me (because you've caught up 6 secs in the last two laps say) then flashing isn't going to make me jump out the way - it's going to make me hold my line and defefnd harder - you want to get through Ascari quickly? Sorry bud, you're gonna have to go round or get a better exit now that you've been flashing me all the way since the second Lesmo. Maybe I'm just an arse though :)

No, you're not...... ;)

I did a Fuji GTE race a few hours ago. Qualified 4th, decent for me. Held 4th going through T1 only to get slammed by the Ferrari that started on the row behind me. By the time I get going again I'm 12th. Made a couple of decent passes and a few fell off in front of me so up to 6th by half way. With 3 laps to go I'm in 4th closing on the Ferrari in 3rd who drops it exiting the penultimate corner but then drives across the road into my path. I emerge from this with a just about driveable car but with deranged steering. I'm now 3rd. I struggle around the last 3 laps at reduced speed, able to keep the three cars behind me at bay. I then notice that either the leader or the second placed car has dropped out and I've inherited 2nd. One more lap and I would certainly have lost three places. It was fun but I can't help but wonder what might have been if I hadn't been used as a brake once again at T1 on L1.....

It's interesting the experiences you have. I had two really good races yesterday morning, finishing in a 3rd and a 4th place. I was perfectly happy with that. But my most enjoyable race was last evening when I finished 9th. Astons at Spa. Qualified 8th. Lost 3 laps at the start being careful at La Source and made up a couple fairly quickly. Then for the rest of the race I circulated with 4-5 other drivers for the entire race, all, of us never more than 3 lengths apart. There was some switching around but the driving throughout was respectful, careful - but still hard. We were all ready to pounce on any mistake but very few were made. It was actually huge fun to be a part of, even if the result was nothing to write home about.....

To be honest, I've only seen deliberate wrecking in LMU twice, once where I was wrecked at Monza in LMP2s (and I posted the video of that) and another right at the end of a race at Bahrain where two idiots deliberately wrecked the same driver in front of me. I've been the victim of poor driving/racecraft though on many occasions, the idiots who think a race has to be won at T1, or the bandits who don't turn a lap in practice so they can start at the back, hang back and then blast through at full chat without a care for anyone who might be in their way. As I've said many times before, I'm cautious, especially at the start of races because you can easily have your race ruined in the first couple of corners. Fortunately I seem to be having a lot more good races at the moment than bad ones..... :) (He said, touching wood).

The absurd thing about this video, and what often happens on the track, is that it's about revenge for accidents that they themselves caused.
It seems that many virtual drivers have never even seen a race on TV, and think they are applying the highway code. They don't realize that the opponent cannot disappear or stop suddenly, so they cause accidents in which they think they are the "victims" themselves, and take revenge at the next bend.

Having watched the video I think the author merely intends to highlight the fact that there are racers that see red on occassion. Doesn't matter the game (racing or not), if people are invested in what they're doing and are attempting to reach a certain goal they can often feel aggrieved when they are stopped from achieving that goal - perhaps especially so when another human is involved.
