TIP: Multiple game profiles on same PC

I just asked devs and tested it myself, multiple profiles do work (they will be using the same Race Control account though).

BACKUP YOUR USERDATA FOLDER BEFORE TRYING THIS.
  1. Navigate to your "steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData" folder
  2. Make a copy of the "player" folder and rename to "player2" for example.
  3. Make a windows shortcut to "Le Mans Ultimate.exe" in your main LMU folder.
  4. Edit the shortcut and add the following to the end of the "target" line: +profile="player2"
  5. Start up the game using that shortcut will use the settings from the "player2" folder.
  6. Starting the game normally should default to the "player" folder settings.
Note.... this doesn't carry over using a different resolution because that is global for every player that uses the game. There are ways around that, but that becomes more complex copying "Config_DX11.ini" files in and out on startup.

Hardly complex.

You can do this for controllers, resolutions, profiles and players.
They are nothing more then sets of files and folders to be manipulated with GMEs ( shrugs) No biggie.

P.S. Another tip is to use Symboliic Link for Temp/S397 folder
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Temp - SymbolicLink\S397\LMU
*** Every update remove all files from the backup folder and let it rebuild.

Guys, i did ask this question in the past. For those of you who have created a second account, do you have access to your DLC of your main account?? My i load LMU with my second steam account, i have acces to base content and nothing else almost. EX. my main account i can drive LMP3 and in my second account, they are locked. Its sucks, i mean im on the same computer, just loading a different player profile.

You can install Steam and therefore LMU on multiple PCs.
If you could install using one account and then login using a second, that would give the second account access to content that hadn't been purchased for that second account.
There is a "Steam Family" option that allows several accounts to share games; I don't know if that works for DLC...

did you buy all dlcs pr you‘ve got them over racecontrol+ subscription?
This is also a popular question online and there is mentioned something about new old family sharing and that with old one you cant share dlcs … you cm find more here

Yeah that's what i am asking for. Right now i can't start LMU with a shortcut to the LMU.exe and added +profile command.

I can only start LMU from steam itself.

Create your shortcut through Steam then add all the profile commands once made. Or add the command lines to Steam properties?

Yeah in the meantime i also found this solution (y) But now everytime i use this shortcut i get this steam windows. Any solution for this? 😄

I Also tried this as it worked for rF2 but LMU just crashes with this.

D:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 2399420 +VR +profile=vr

Ok i found the issue with the shortcut to the steam.exe in the trace files

When you use it like this:

For D:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 2399420 +VR +profile=vr the command line "+VR "+profile=vr"" is send to the game basically searching for a profile name called vr" (also written in the trace file)

So i tried different combinations of " before and after each argument but nothing worked. So i thought maybe switch the position of +VR and +profile=vr
For D:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 2399420 +profile=vr +VR the command line looks like this ""+profile=vr" +VR" and the game still seaches for the profile called vr"
So now i thought about adding a single " in front of the profile name as it may neglect the effect of the one which is automatically added behind the name.

And tada. For D:\Steam\steam.exe -applaunch 2399420 +profile="vr +VR the command line looks like this ""+profile=vr +VR"" and the agme successfully finds the profile called vr

Maybe this will help other drivers having the same issue. @Woodee if you like you could add this finding to the first post

If you right click in your Steam library > Manage > Add Desktop Shortcut.

In Steam in LMU properties add command line: +profile="playerfoldername"

This should work. You shouldn't necessarily need +VR now that there is a popup in Steam for VR.

Yeah i know that but i have different profiles and i don't want to constantly change the name in the LMU properties. The whole reason behind having shortcuts is to be able to "switch" fast between different profiles/game settings without the need to change some "hidden" settings
