This is... not okay...

You constantly say it doesn't make sense to you, yet in nearly every of these threads it gets explained again, and you know the summary is to be ignored. Surely it does make sense to you? It's just DR. It's based on the results. That's how it makes sense.
You're as repetitive as me in your responses. Others have not only understood it but have also said it themselves. 'It's just DR' is an inadequate and superficial response. As is suggesting that everyone ignores the summary - why do we still have it there if it serves no useful purpose? I know what the DR means, I know what it does, and I don't need any more explanations because they don't change the fact that the 'commentary' that is produced often reads as though it is flawed. I fully appreciate that the system and the maths it involves isn't flawed but that isn't the point - at least not the one I'm making that is just sidestepped each time it is made. As I and others have said, if there were no unhelpful explanations, it would make more adequate sense because the apparent absurdity of ending up with a minus 'score' even though you have exceeded both the qualifying and race expectations set out for you wouldn't be recited.

Exactly! The commentary is flawed! We all said this last Feb/Mar!

So when someone shows 3 green ticks but a loss of DR, you know the reason: it’s not about the ticks and crosses. Agreeing it doesn’t make sense gives them no further understanding. Until the system gets changed the most useful thing we users can do is help each other to understand what they’re seeing.

Agreed. But saying ‘It’s just DR’ doesn’t do that.

Anyway…. As there seems to be no impetus to remove the commentary, I’ll belt up and won’t respond when the next person asks exactly the same questions, because we both know they will…….😉

Unless I am mistaken the rules and scoring/rating system is the same for each and every driver. Maybe in Cricket you should get a 7 instead of a 4, and a 10 instead of a 6, a single run now should be 1.34.... etc etc etc. Oh and Football, a goal now is rewarded with 2 if its scored off the head, 4 if its in off the arse.

Whatever the scoring is, I'm basically fine with it, but it needs to appear to make sense and the commentary that we get frankly detracts from that. It's as simple as that. Now I really will shut up. ;)

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just wanted to post this to show that you don't necessarily have to gain DR when you finished above where the game expected you to finish:

Strenght Of Field 5243 - iRating of driver 4931 (below avg.)
19 Drivers in class, driver currently in P13 and losing iRating.
Probably has to gain 3 more positions to end up gaining iRating.

The confusing thing in LMU is that the green arrows make it seem like you did good and should be gaining DR, while in reality the result wasn't good enough to get an increase.
Aswell as finishing in a position higher than the game 'expected' you to finish. When the game says 'Expected you to finish 16th', it just means you are ranked car #16 out of the lobby. It doesn't mean finishing higher than that position will automatically give you an increase in DR, as shown above.

Maybe a simple (?) thing as showing next to each driver name on the results table the pre-race DR and the arrow showing the gains and losses (as in example above) of DR in the race. That way, if I lost DR, even if I gained positions during the race, but a bunch of lower DR guys finished front of me, I will understand that I did good but not good enough.

what about getting rid of DR/SR and just split people based on laptimes? and then just give penalties during the race based on incident points or something like 1st contact ->1st warning, 2nd contact -> 2nd warning, 3rd contact -> stop&go10 and 1st and 2nd cut ->warning, 3rd cut -> drive through etc

I'd rather not race with people that are fast but reckless.

Keep the SR, so people are grouped/can only enter races when they reach/pass a safety threshold

ok so we keep the SR but ppl are still split based on DR and SR can be farmed easily to pass the threshold

what i'm thinking about is a system where you are split based on DR but if you are penalized during a race because you are reckless, you finish in the bottom positions, your DR does not go up and you can't enter races

in order to access intermediate/advenced races you have to be quick and safe

The current system works. A hot lap does not make a racer, far from it.

the current system doesn't work because races are locked behind a value that can be easily farmed without actually learning how to race safely

now if you lock races behind DR you can prevent ppl from farming SR to access int/adv and use penalties during races to prevent people from raceing fast and reckless

The DR provides the splits based on the best competitive racers. It's the only way the best can race the best and everyone racing with similar paced racers.

The current system works fine.

If people farm SR, it means they're trying to drive safely. What's wrong with that?
Splits are created based on DR, not SR. SR is just what unlocks races in higher categories.

You can never prevent fast drivers from driving recklessly. iRacing being a great example.

And you can never create an automated system that will be able to tell which driver is at fault. Trying to create a system where people will get drive throughs based on amount of contact will not work. If you get divebombed 3 times in the races where the divebomber overshoots the corner and hits you, does that justify the person who gets divebombed to get a drive through penalty?

If think you're too concerned about the system. Just drive your own race and have fun. Online driving standards in this game are pretty good anyway.

Even the weekly races are disgusting. From now on i only Drive the Champion races. IT IS so frustating. I reach mid S1 every 5 races Just to be Put Back in B3 because of some idiot...

But even the Championship races are a huge risk because of the DR multiplier. I’ve lost far more DR in 4x multiplier races than virtually any daily race. Then again, I’ve never got (and probably never will get) even close to DRS1.
