September 24 update

Awful isn't it. Watching a few of the content creators play it last few days and they're locking up a lot more too and mentioning it on streams. I remember a few real life Pro WEC drivers saying the braking was a little too sensitive in the game compared to real life but now they've made it more sensitive especially in the GTE and LMP2 classes.
I'm actually finding it more in the Hypercars.....

Try a fresh install ? That should be tantamount.
rFactor 2 used to be same, seen many people would have all sorts of bugs on big update then do fresh install and all good.
I mean don't forget people here are running verification and finding errors.
Not saying that's the case here could not hurt anyway.
Could also be down to old setups / car changes.

something has definitely changed, i wish the devs could say something...
The silence is strange, I've seen people mention it on here and on Discord but no replies from devs. Was in another race earlier online at Portimao and it was a lock up fest again, could barely see through the smoke at every corner of the cars in front. Not sure what split it was as it did the usual thing of not telling me which happens 7 or 8 times out of 10 so it could have been a low skilled split but still, I'd like to know if it's something that will be addressed or is it something we have to live with until the GT3s arrive.

Just lower your Brake Force in Setup by 1kg...
Maybe this will fix the problem for now but there must have been a change in the braking force/setting. Its a little frustrating cause im coming from acc and learned how to brake and now it seems like i can start from zero

Do you know that in ACC the cars have ABS, but neither Hypercars, LMP2, nor GTE have it ?
Wait for the LMGT3 and you'll get back ABS in the cars, which will be closer to what you experience in ACC (though I prefer the ABS management of GT3 in RF2 compared to ACC) ;)

Just calibrate your Pedal so you Hit about 90-95% then Play with the Brake Force in the Setups. You need to lower the Brake Input with each down Shift...

I think you misunderstand me. i know that gt3s have ABS and the cars in Lmu not and thats indeed not the problem because, as i wrote, i learned/still learning how to brake without ABS. But after the update it feels like the learningprocess is gone cause it feels different and breaking like i did before (and it worked out) will now cause lockups.
later i will try what GummimannRacing said and see how it works.

Since the update I can no longer access the start screen.
“Please press button” Is no longer recognized by the keyboard or the wheel. Only Mouse still works.
In the game, however, wheel and keyboard work.

    But now only micro stutters.

I'm told nothing has changed on any cars brakes, the only change is ABS, so if you were using it on low before you'd now need to use high. If you weren't using it, then it is the same as before. Please note the default setups were updated so you might need to readjust brake pressure.

Tested the update yesterday and was able to notice the same behavior as OP said.
Maybe something due to hardware calibration rather than change in the car.

For me the breaks also are blocking more than before, but the most important thing for me is that the game was working prefect and smooth untill this late update. Now the image is flickering once as a little jump almost every 30 seconds in all tracks. I didn’t change anything in my system so that’s is why I suspect that came wiht the update… And is breaking totally the immersion while racing. I restored files in Steam but the issue still.

Indeed they changed and as a matter of fact, brake pressure setting is now very low ( 63 % if I remember well for LMp2) whereas it was above 70 before. Lower to prevent lock up ? 😏
