Real time weather

Probably for hypothetical engine
Dynamic puddles to cool slicks would be great immersion.

ACC is cooling tyres in puddles real time dynamic or canned ?

What does this calendar icon mean in the weather settings? I thought it stands for real weather but it always generates the same weather settings for a session.

Is that the closest weather for that particular track, for that date or an average of the 2023 season ?
The particular session, at the particular track on the date of the session IRL.
So Spa practice is light clouds and low 10c, Spa race is mostly cloudy and low 10c, whereas Bahrain race is clear and high 20c - low 30c, Sebring is light clouds and mid-high 20c.

We still having a plugin for rf2 that reads and apply weather from 3rd party api.

It only works on server side, which means no offline mode.

But can be used as a reference for the LMU guys to implement it.

Hello, it would be nice to have “real” weather for endurance races, it would be so much better than the scripted one. Have a human spotter in the pits to prepare for stops like on iRacing and help with the reglega during the LMDH race.

Its the game closest weather to what actually happened for the session in the 2023 season :)

Don't get that, Lemans race has no rain set ?

Should be a "REAL RACE" profile for each event that works even with steam offline.

Of course you can't mirror the race with 5 zones but you could do best you can.

I like having weather, but don't necessarily like it scripted. I know several games have a "real time and/or conditions" settings built in. It would be great to have this feature built into the game vs it having to be a 3rd party app.
Totally Agree !

AMS2 does it perfectly, so you can actually race a track on the same conditions as the past races. Historically fascinating to see what the drivers had to go through.

Why do you need the calendar icon? Just set the historical weather by default and use the button differently? For example, for random or current real weather? I miss a random weather option very much. I don't want to roughly adjust whether there is sun, rain or clouds. Please include an option to completely randomize the weather.

Well can´t agree more to this. We all know that there was a add-on for live weather in rf2.
I would really like to see this. I think a lot of people would use it.
Also, because of maybe more-costs of using an weather-api, i would say it would be also then fair to take a fee for liveweather in hosted sessions.
LMU doesnt have that much tracks so there are no 1000th´s of tracks which need to be adressed with an api.

O app de clima era uma ótima ideia, já que usaremos o servers pagos, colocar um programa que pega o clima em tempo real seria ótimo para corridas serem realizadas em nível de simulação

The weather plugin works also offline in rFactor2 and LMU, the only negative point in LMU is that the picture gots really bright under more cloudy conditions.

The real weather (calendar-option) for Le Mans 2024 isn't very realistic. This years version was very wet at times (long SC at night because of rain). The Le Mans 2024 weatherplan in LMU doesn't contain any rain...

Weather is probably set for 2023 at LM despite using the 2024 season
