Good morning @trichens
,
I just wanted to ask out of curiosity how things are going with your Quest 2.
Do you often use the VR glasses now & are you satisfied with the picture ?
I also have the Quest 2 & I didn't really want to change my settings anymore because I'm happy with them,
even if there's a chance that the picture could be a little bit better, but I think it's great already.
BUT I watched the YouTube video & tested my Quest 2 again at 90Hz, but in the end,
I set everything back to how I had it before.
Meta Quest Link (software):
72 Hz
5408x2752
Oculus Debug Tool :
Oh & because of the YouTube video I had deactivated the setting "
(PC) Asynchronous Scale" in the debug tool,
because before I always had it on "auto", but when I activate the "Visible HUD" in the debug tool & set the setting
to "Performance", then the FPS keeps jumping from 90 to 45 & back again.
If you then set the "
Performance HUD" to "
Async-S..." in the debug tool, you can see
that it is switched on & off every now and then. I don't know why that is. I just noticed it.
As you can see,
I reduced the FOV of the Quest 2 to save some performance.
The fact that the field of view is even smaller as a result doesn't bother me at all,
because it makes me feel even more like I'm wearing a helmet.
By the way, I only set the resolution in the game to 1280x720 so that I can still have
the "
Oculus Debug Tool" open next to it. I always thought that this would save performance,
but the view isn't mirrored while driving anyway.
If you want to know all my in-game graphics settings, please let me know.
In any case, I'm happy

for you & everyone who gets to enjoy SimRacing in VR.
Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who get sick extremely quickly & badly.
That's why I sold my PSVR1 5 years ago at a big loss. At the time, I didn't know
that you could train yourself out of so-called "motion sickness" & that SimRacing
results in significantly less motion due to the seating position matching the virtual
position of the body.
Unfortunately I still can't play normal VR games the way I would like, but it has
gotten a lot better & with regular training it would definitely get even better.
In any case,
I can only recommend that every driver here at least try VR & even
if you feel really sick, don't throw in the towel straight away.
By the way, you can now even rent VR glasses or buy them second-hand for "little money".
Important :
You always have to be on your guard
against these f...n scammers
