Hello, fellow LMU community.
I have been broadcasting some races in LMU, in a YT channel, and I have some feedback, regarding the official overlay.
In general, I like the look and the features of the new broadcast overlay, since the new v1.3 update.
But I have some suggestions to improve the new overlay.
1. Qualifying overlay
I think the new qualifying overlay isn't as good for one main reason: you have to manually select the cars that you want to track, which at first, is a good idea, but there should be a slot reserved for the car that I'm tracking with the camera. Also, one thing that I liked from the previous overlay is the amount of time gained and/or lost in a sector, compared to the leader. Currently, we only see if the sector is purple, green or yellow.
2. Pits
I can't see since the new update if a car is in the pits or not. Previously, you could see a status that said "Pit In", "Box", and "Pit Out".
3. Penalties
I think that in the control panel webpage, there should be a section of the website that we could see if a certain car got a DT, SG, etc, and then, if possible, create a function that allows to use the "Race Control Message" to transmit that a certain driver got a penalty.
4. Battle Indicator in the Control Panel
So far, I haven't seen the red bars that used to pop up, to indicate that there is a battle ocurring between drivers. That feature was extremely useful.
5. Onboard HUD
Bring back the HUD with throttle and brake inputs, like we used to have in the older overlay.
6. Improve layout in the Control Panel webpage
I think you guys could improve the layout of the control panel page, because, in my opinion, I feel like the buttons are too big sometimes.
7. Track Map addition
A track map would be awesome to have.
8. Add forecast information
It would be awesome to show the spectators the weather forecast programmed by the server admins.
9. Flash in the Control Panel webpage the car(s) that caused a yellow flag
A cool feature to have is to flash in yellow the car(s) that caused a yellow flag.
10. Number of Laps
Add the number of laps in a race
11. Full Control of cameras
Add buttons to choose a specific camera, instead of cycling through the cameras to get to the one I want.
