Really appreciate the openness and honesty with the upcoming updates/content. It’s a shame of course, but it’s so nice to to be updated with such honesty. It seems to be the consensus too looking at the various comments about, which is nice to see.

Shame about Qatar being delayed, really looking forward to driving the Hypercar’s round there, but very interesting to hear we’ll be getting alternate layouts for existing tracks. Think the only ones that could come under that banner are Portimao, Fuji, Bahrain and Le Mans?

So what do we think are the first 3 cars coming end of Feb? I’m going with the Aston, Porsche and Lexus, with the Aston being free. Would just leave the Lambo and Mustang. My heart though wants the Porsche, Lambo and Mustang to be in pack 4. Imagine the noise those things will make with the audio team Studio 397 have! Either way, looking forward to all of it.

I must add that I’m not particularly looking forward to custom liveries. I love seeing grids full of official ones. Not especially looking forward to seeing fluorescent pink or green Porsche 963’s…

Still no mention of any major improvements for the 'offline' community... (in fact, none at all as far as I can see)
It is, as I expected, still 100% aimed at the 'online' community seeing that it's the only way to make money.
...therefore still no reason for me to re-install LMU for a while yet!
I am starting to regret having subsidised S397/MSG with their EA attempt at an online gateway for their RaceControl.

Just out of interest, nothing more, is there a specific reason why you don't want to race online?

FWIW, I've actually been racing a lot offline recently, both in long races in various cars at Le Mans and in the coop events.

Yeah I'm hesitant as well with the lack of mention of offline improvements. The update re: driver swaps to me read like it was an online only thing if I'm honest.

I also would be happy to see an Offline Championship!

I have the feeling also that there is almost no daily LMP2 in bronze anymore. Only GTs.

It's an important point that I hope those who set the weekly agenda will bear in mind. Although GT3s have very much been the flavour of the last month and a half, many (like me) I suspect are now drifting back to GTEs and LMP2s.

Wow. This thread derailed quickly… Anyone with any thoughts on the content? What you’re looking forward to? New cars? Track layouts? This was supposed to be a more positive thread…

It is positive!

The communication is good and transparent.

Their resources are however limited (finances).

But hey people are asking for so many features. This is a good sign!

For me:
- more LMP2 races (also mixed races LMP2 and GT) in the Online bronze daily
- Porsche GT3
- Online Championship

and the Nordschleife of course…LOL

Mostly time constraints and not being available at the required times for the appropriate races.
I just don’t have the time (or patience) to fight my way out of the beginner classes to finally get some decent racing.

The current offline racing is fun for a while but eventually starts lacking in motivation due to not having a ‘goal’ to attain.
At race end it’s all over and the slate is wiped clean - to be repeated at the next race.

unfortunately can't get everything all at once.
Sure, I agree with that. However, it would have been nice to have had something solid for offline users in the last 12 months!
It looks like practically everything so far is squarely aimed at online users and pushing hard for RaceControl memberships.

Like co-op?

Like co-op with AI drivers? …was silently taken away from the game at the first patch!
That sneaky action set the stage for me as to what I could expect in the future.

It was taken away because it needed way more work.

What I was saying was... online hasn't been the ONLY focus (even if some may see it that way) hence why I said co-op.

They can only put in one big feature at once to get it tested in public. Adding more would be a BAD idea in terms of testing on public builds.

I’m not convinced that this work has even been looked at seriously because it is never mentioned by the devs etc…
Why remove it when none of the users complained about it until it was gone? Makes no sense (to me)!

The very idea of taking something away completely because the devs ‘think’ it needs more work is extremely rare in the software development world and having spent my whole 50+ years career in that domain I’ve come across it twice - both times after fruitless patching to get it working properly. It is not something to be done lightheartedly because it affects user-confidence & trust massively!

Well that is the situation. They felt they needed to take it away because it wasn't working how they wanted to. Can't go back in time...and you can "Monday night quarterback" this all day long without knowing anything about the code or what is going on behind the scenes that lead to that decision.

When/if they decide to put it back in the game in a different state, you will definitely know about it.

It would have been good customer relations if they had at least given an explanation as to why they took that step.
But no, nothing said on the subject at all - just surprised a large number of users with a ‘fait-accompli’…
BTW, what does “Monday night quarterback" mean exactly? I’ve never heard the expression…
