All is unchanged as far as I know, you should be able to get in VR offline. Have you tried the suggestions here?
 
thx! its better than expected for a "workaround". I feel present in the car and the game runs Smooth! WOW!

Only things I have are: no HUD? how to get to the menu in a race, I always must close the game. And lock-to-horizon is missing.

But wow game sounds great and feels great! happy so far!

As "Fingers" said, you can change the lock to horizon settings in the setting menu. Just look around. There is also a button you can map to your steering wheel that is an alternative to ESC. Map that and you can exit back to the game menu without having to close the game. There is no hud but for the immersion purists that is actually a bonus. You see exactly what a driver would see (trying to make things positive here hahaha)

To add to the no hud issue. Anyone that uses steam vr, can you try the Hud plugin from rfactor2 and use Crewchief to set that hud up in VR. See this Video. I use Oculus VR so won’t work for me unfortunately. But this might give a hud to some VR users!
 
They didn't even fix the race length bug in the UI. The patch seems like stuff they had missed to deliver on release date patch 2 should be bugs and features. But my expectations are really low atm

Wildly optimistic, but might this inc side door VR folks getting online Dan? Not technically a new feature ;)

right, in fact it would be enough to be able to connect online in VR; in this way those who run only with VR like me remain completely excluded from the ranking!

I'm all for getting you guys online, but I'm not a dev so no idea why it's not working right now 😅

If you connect to a practice server, and get the crashlog and trace I can take a look

I use quest 3 via steam VR. Works perfectly in single player, still no online support. - vr in steam setting. You have to use the quest controller reset view button to sit perfectly in the car and don't put the vr on till after you hit driveand are on track
 
for those who use SteamVR (also with openXR): download from Steam Desktop+, it is free and allows you to see and interact with the PC desktop and all applications.
In this way you can always use the VR without removing it and you can interact with the LMU menus directly in the VR.
 
Finally, been able to get rid of Center VR view button and tried LMU with Pimax 5KX + OpenXR.
Damn LMP2 cockpit looks awesome... And game in general looks good in VR. Same as rF2 with proper content.
Yet the most disappointing, after no VR support of course, is FFB as to me. I can feel rf2 roots, but I think it's a step in a wrong direction.

I own a rift s, is there anyway to recenter the view in LMU?

As of now I am floating above the car. I have loo tried everything recommended on the inter web…lol
Nothing is working.

Greatly appreciate some help.
