LM Ultimate VR thread

Still can't seem to get what I'd call a god-ray - but am I bovverred?!?!? Not at all. Just started a race a 6AM at LM, clear skies, 15th or so position, Ultra preset, 25 visible vehicles etc. - and although (again) the fps on the grid dipped to 60fps in the rolling start, it rose quickly to 70s, 80s and 90 during the first lap as the pack spread out a bit and the visual quality compared to what I was running is amazing.

So for the record, I'm currently running:
OpenXR toolkit v1.3.8 (Turbo mode, CAS @ 125% resolution, Foveated rendering @ Quality preset (if that does anything in a HP G2))
i9-13900K (2 cores @ 61x, 2@58x, rest at 56x)
Gigabyte Aorus Master 4090 (Afterburner settings - 2550Mhz GPU, 11941 MEM, +5% core voltage, +283MHz core clock, +1441MHz memory, 133% power limit)
Nvidia 572.60 driver

LMU:
Windowed @ 1600x1024 (no VR mirror!)
Post effects - High
FSAA - MSAA 4x
FXAA on
Preset Ultra (everything Ultra except Opponent Detail High, Shadow Blur QUality, Soft particles High, Rain High)
I'd love to get the Ohne-Speed openXR Toolkit Mod 1.3.8 working. For me the "cropping" works, thus freeing render resolution due to less vertical pixels need for the "letterbox", but when I then increase over all render resolution to better the resolution within the letterbox I only get more shimmering and worse over all clarity. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? (Me also 4090 and 13900K).

If you have setup the crop2fov and then change the resolution of your headset. I have found I need to then tweak the crop2fov so it then recognises the new headset resolution.

Playing with new modded OpenXR dll.
R5600X+RX6800XT+G2 90Hz
Default ratio fov/resolution calculation doesn't work well with G2, it reduces resolution too much
Vertical FOV 50% (40 Up, 55 Down) --> 1800px resolution. At start feels too constrained, In race I don't notice the smaller vertical fov.
Horizonal 100% --> 3168px
Good performance jump, good CPU(~25%) and GPU(25%) in online practice.
In the race (daily, Algarve 20 drivers) I was CPU bottlenecked most of the time.

Offline race Algarve 19 IA.
CPU usage variation from 44% overhead to bottlenecked. Seemed related to object "proximity", cars, buildings....
GPU 20% overhead.

Hello, trying to eliminate the steamvr mirroring to see if I can get some more performance headroom with my RTX3080, does anyone know whats the cmd to put in Launch parameters to achieve that?

Cant you just use the ingame setting? There is one under graphic settings called "VR-experience mirroring" (in germany its "VR-Erlebnis spiegeln", dont know what its name is in the english client. It shows the main menu etc on the screen but when you go into a race the window of the game will stay black.

Dance schon

I didn’t know this Option was available in Game

Does the black screen means no image rendering by the GPU?

I would guess so. Why should the option be there if its rendered as well :D? Would be stupid to render that viewpoint on the monitor and then make a black overlay on top of it lol

Ja stimmrt aber who knows , weisst du mit Entwicklers,...
Ayway will give it a try this week if time permits because i really need to help my 3080 gpu

I guess iwill lose mouse function though so i need an alternative

I’ve recently turned mirroring off (HP G2) and yes, no issues with mouse etc. Even more recently, I realised I could turn off the HP WMR screen mirroring (or preview as I think they call it) to squeeze headroom there too (although I always used to run that minimized so maybe it had no gpu load anyway).

Hi, i did a motherboard upgrade and fresh Windows + Oculus Rift S / Meta software install, launched the game, it ran fine for one lap, then it crashed and i get this error message on launch, see pic.

Anyone have any clues on how i can fix this? It launches on my monitor, but will not launch in VR any more, it crashed and gives this error. I use Oculus Tray Tool, even tried launching without it on, i never even used Open XR so i have no idea what is happening.

Cheers, p
