This is the place to give BUGS/FEEDBACK concerning the formation lap procedure.

To help the developers look at possible glitches and unexpected penalties, please provide the following info.

For BUGS (and unexpected behaviour) in the current system please provide info below:
Describe the problem:
Attach video clip (LIVE GAMEPLAY) of the incident:
PC spec (if not in signature already):
Trace file of the session (where to find it?):

For FEEDBACK on the current system and what features you may want to add/take away the please be as descriptive as you can.

Today at 100 min launch party race at Le mans with amg and aston.

Under formation lap. Suddently all breaked hard - unavoidable to get up in car in front. About 20 out 32 gt3 cars got a DT for this.
 
Single Player Mode, starting last in GT3 at Fuji and getting DT no matter what I do. I'm within the green/yellow spacing window and no matter how fast or slow I drive I'm getting a DT. I've never had this happen pre v1.0. Also the driving Erratically is almost always flashing where as pre v1.0 you seemed to have more of

I was the Porsche next to the streamer car. I did not have performance issues at the start. It wasn't that bad of a start, I've certainly seen worse back and forth. But almost all got a pen.

Trace should include two races as I didn't close the game in between. First race is this, the 2nd race the one after. Both with a pen. In the 2nd race I started 1st, but the Hypercars were driving so erratic, I was in a vicious cycle of having to close the gap or to stop. I can upload footage tomorrow evening if requested

Le Mans race starts still broken. I'm forced to stop because of cars in front of me stopping and get a DT for driving too slow, along with half the field.

The Hypercars and GT3 are too close together. The Hypercars are doing way too much tire and brake warming, causing a concertina effect until the 2nd half of the GT3 field has to stop.
 
this game has simply become unplayable since v1.0.... i have 450 races since the beginning of the EA, never have i had so many problems since 1.0

every single day the game crashes itself either when being in race or simply being unable to join the race server... it just crashes to desktop
i try to get back to the server and then again it crashes... ( i can go to training though)
i tried to uninstall the game and reinstall it , same problem again... i try to register to another race, i can't because the game tells me i'm already registered to the one i can't join....
i was DR S2, i'm barely B3 and soon B2 because i can't start a race properly...last test tonight in the spa gt3 race , qualified p1 i got another CTD in the formation lap, end of the game...

I got a drive through penalty for starting from the pit lane. I qualified in fifth place but got distracted waiting for the start so I started from the pit lane. While waiting for the start signal I got a message from the game saying I was in the wrong position so I was getting a penalty. It was definitely not a drive through penalty from the pit lane as I was waiting behind the white line.
It was a GTE Race in Sebring.
Unfortunately I don't have any footage or replay, as the game froze during the race. I searched for a crash dump in all places but there wasn't any.

just last night for the spa round of the online championship, literally everyone except one person got a DT penalty for "not staying in the middle" or something like that, seems in most modes this formation lap is very bugged out. It also gave me 2.75 penalty points for track limits during that time, when I was just trying to do what I was supposed to and avoided a pile up during the formation lap. Hopefully this is solved cause daily races for me haven't really had this issue.
 
At Imola, I follow the rules, with speed limiter on before de 60 Green Bar shows, and I dont know why I got DT. I think there are to much rules for that, more rules than the devs could understand. Kkk
 
Honestly, get rid of that annoying colored line and adopt the ACC or IRacing system. I systematically get a DT because of the one in front and it's frustrating.
 
Either put a line where you are supposed to be the whole time or get rid of it. Sometimes its off track or jinks in corners. Going into chicanes like lemans and spa is ridiculous and usually where you get penalties. If you are not close enough to car infront put up a warning with a timer.
 
As mentioned elsewhere, erratic driving warning is not JUSTweaving

I got pinged recently for brake warming harshly, you know, full gas, then full brakes, largely to warm brakes but also to start some tyre temp, did nothing else, no speeding, weaving, never got out of box.

I think the penalty just says speeding regardless, this could do with being more accurate as I was not speeding at any time, I may have gone over briefly while brake warming, but not when the green/red soeed limiters icon was showing

I'd suggest holding your brake while pressing the gas.... does more to warm the brakes that the kangerooing. It also stops the concertina effect which screws everybody over.

After all this is just a FORMATION lap (well part of the lap). It's whole purpose is to get the field organised. If it was a full pace lap I'd maybe understand if there was more leeway with warming brakes and tyres.
 
OK, new penalty at Imola, 4th or 5th time in 3 weeks (lost count), now I got all the data and I think I know what I'm doing wrong, it's a supposition, I'll need to test more to confirm...

Both me and the guy by my side took penalties, there are 2 entries on the tracelog for "speeding", mine was for "speeding"...

1983.39s score.cpp 1045: Queued local penalty et=105.7 1 0 0 0 "Speeding"
1988.50s score.cpp 1045: Queued local penalty et=110.8 1 0 0 0 "Speeding"

I matched the times with the replay file, and 110.8 is exactly this attached image (middle of last corner).

It was exacltly the last time I received the "Slow down" message (48s live video), because I received the same message for a brief period right before, I think it's probably a cumulative calculation, probably I past the threshold exactly in the last corner.

Seems that I need to stay behind the "red wall" for the entire formation lap, not possible to past it for a while, very harsh, and because something changed recently, the ground indicator goes back and forward like crazy, making more difficult to stay in the safe zone, specially at Imola and Le Mans.

I think the system needs refinement, it can't be so harsh, doesn't make any sense, at least now we'll have time penalties.

I fully agree with you chap, it is far too harsh but sadly you will probably be met as I have here with I have done 3000 races and never had a penalty
