Bug Report Regarding Driver Swap
Please check the video from around 2:42:00 until the end at the following link.

Our team consisted of three drivers. After completing the first and second stints, I took over for the third stint.
Immediately after the driver swap, my throttle input stopped responding.
At that time, even keyboard inputs such as the ESC key were not accepted.

I force-closed the game and tested it in offline mode — all buttons and pedal inputs worked without any issue.
However, when I returned to the race server, I experienced the same problem: pedal and keyboard inputs were not accepted only during my stint after the driver swap.

EDIT:
---------------
If the tire change settings are the cause of the bug, then in the first stint, all four tires were changed.
In the second stint — just before I took over for the third stint (when the bug occurred) — only the left-side tires were set to be changed, and the right-side tires were set to no change.

We had a bug with 2 hours to go with driver swap, session 1 of today (day 2) that just finished, split 6. Unfortunately we lost P3 from this and ended up 7th, please read:

Only myself & a friend in the team, 2 of us total.
I got out of the car, this was for my friends 3rd stint, roughly 4ish hours into the race. He got in but his MFD was as if he was spectating, only had access to the 3 pages. Also it kept him as a spectator, had to manually change to cockpit view but nothing worked. Only thing that was working was changing gear shift, pedals, steering wheel and thats it, no engine audio & car was not responding to anything. We then attempted the driver swap again 45 mins later and the same issue repeated itself. The driver bugging out alt+f4'd out of the game both times so I could hop back in and continue.

I do have a VOD on Twitch from the stream however it does not show the POV of my friend who was affected from this both times.

EDIT: My friend has confirmed, the video above from zKat at 2:42:00 is EXACTLY the issue he had both times in our race toward the end. Very strange as the swaps with him were working all fine prior in the race.

EDIT 2: Regarding tyres, for more info: the first time it happened I was pitting my friend with mixed tyres (used & new) and the second time with all new tyres and the exact same result happened. Prior to this he set me up with a mixed tyre stop & I had no issues getting in, unsure if tyres have anything to do with it though

Hi everyone,

I experienced a strange issue during the 6-hour Qatar event while swapping drivers.

I was watching my teammate in replay mode as he entered the pits. I received the takeover timer and everything seemed normal. But after taking over the car, the menu popped up with options like "Resume" and "Retire from Race"—and I got stuck. Pressing ESC and clicking "Resume" didn’t work. Eventually, after tabbing out of the game and back in, I was able to get back into the car and start my stint.

We tested the same scenario during practice, starting my second stint from the "Standings" screen, and everything worked flawlessly.

I just wanted to share in case anyone else encounters something similar.

We had exactly the same problem during the second Pit

During this particular pitstop, we've decided to use the qualy tire set (used tires).

Hi Studio 397 team,

We competed in our first 6-hour endurance race on Le Mans Ultimate last night, but unfortunately, we encountered a serious issue during every driver swap that significantly impacted our race.

Each time we swapped drivers, the incoming driver would load into the car but be met with no UI and complete loss of control — unable to drive, access menus, or do anything in-game. The only workaround was for the affected driver to restart their game entirely. This cost us valuable time and ultimately ruined any chance of fighting for the lead.

This issue wasn’t isolated to just our team — our LMGT3 squad experienced the exact same problem, and we’ve heard from several other teams that they were affected as well. The strange part is that it happened consistently across all our teams, which makes us wonder if it could be a regional server-related issue (we’re based in Australia).

Please, we ask that this bug be addressed urgently. Driver swapping is a fundamental feature of endurance racing, and right now it’s too broken to rely on for serious events. This game has massive potential and the driving experience is brilliant — but issues like this need to be resolved to make LMU viable for long-format racing.

Thank you,
William Gielen, & VEMA esports team

3 others including our team had this issue over in the above thread. Myself ,& my team mate are also from Australia as the OP is too, could be a factor?

Since I'm driving in VR, I had multiple restart during the event, and I have found two issues because of it, that would be nice to be not happen in future events. (The issues did not affect our result)
First: After joining mid session during qualifying, as my teammate was qualifying and I was scheduled to take the race start. After my teammate finished his run, I could not take control or the car (button was missing), so we had to drive out and change drivers doing the pit-stop.
Second: After I was done with my running, and changed back to monitor, I did not have access to the MFD or the timing widget.

All three members of our team were accessing the race from Japan.
I was the only one who experienced this bug; the other two had no issues.
Although it hasn't been reported here, at least one other team from Japan also experienced the same bug.
To be honest, I have no idea what might be triggering it.
I was running OBS, Piny Pedal, and Crew Chief V4, and frequently switching between windows, so those factors might have something to do with it.

As a spectator, the damage of the active car was limited to front, rear and tires but the suspension damage was not shown.

Also upon re-joining the damage was no longer visible to the spectator.

Interesting, thanks for that extra info.

Myself and my team mate are both from AU, I didn't get affected but he did twice in a row near the end. He wasn't running any third party software, just the game. I was running OBS, streamlabs chatbot and crew cheif.

Just some food for thought to compare notes

Had several issues with gear selection after getting the car after a driver swap. One time reverse gear was selected, the other time neutral. In both cases the gear selection was not working. I first had to disable the pit limiter, then the gear selection worked.

With the next team event announced, just wondering if there has been any official word on this issue & if it is being worked on? I'd hate to participate & for this to occur for us again

It's the whole purpose of the event, to test the system.

Please leave this thread for bug reports.

so we had the same issues at 6hrs of cota but it only happened on the first driver swap, the second one was perfectly fine

Had the same issue as above in the COTA race. I have attached all my log files from the server below. We had the bug twice, both times me trying to take over the car. First attempt I was in the server from the start of the race, second attempt I left and rejoined the server prior to the stop. First attempt had new tyres all round (2 medium, 2 hard). Second attempt was changing to 2 used mediums. We completed a third attempt which was done normally.

Good afternoon, we're racing the 6 Hours of COTA, and it was my turn to stint, but when it was time to change drivers, I got stuck, as if I was still watching him drive, but I was actually steering the wheel. I could put it in N and first gear, but the car wouldn't do anything, and I couldn't even open the menu. I had to restart the game, and we were two laps behind.
