First off I want to thanks the peaple of this trait (lmu-and-motec), as it took me some time to figure it all out, I wanted to make it easy for everyone to install and get it working.

Step 1: Download the DAMPlugin

Download the latest version from here:
DAMPlugin for rFactor 2
Look for: rF2_DAMPlugin_v0_931_ManualInstall.zip (or newer)

Step 2: Install the Plugin into LMU

  1. Open Steam
  2. Go to your LMU game:
    • Right-click → Properties
    • Go to Installed Files
    • Click Browse… to open the game root directory
  3. Extract the plugin ZIP and move the following:
From: \rF2_DAMPlugin_v0_931_ManualInstall\Bin64\Plugins\DAMPlugin.dll
➡To: \Le Mans Ultimate\Plugins\DAMPlugin.dll

From: \rF2_DAMPlugin_v0_931_ManualInstall\PluginData
➡To: Root of your LMU directory (\Le Mans Ultimate\PluginData)

Step 3: Enable the Plugin

Navigate to:
steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\CustomPluginVariables.JSON

Open the file with a text editor and add this line right after the first "{":
JSON:
"DAMPlugin.dll": {
  " Enabled": 1
},

Step 4: Restart the Game

Now launch LMU again, DRIVE. If successful, you’ll start seeing MoTeC logs here:
📂 \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\LOG

Step 5: Install MoTeC Software

Download MoTeC i2 Pro (64-bit) from the official site: MoTeC Downloads

Step 6: Use Workbooks

Some helpful workbooks can be found on the LMU forums:
Some more info on how to use the Motec/workbook.

More info on the Manic worksheet

How to disable the 'Login enabled' audio log on start of each session?
I have set Active on Startup = 0
in
\Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\DAMPlugin.ini

Still the notification plays.

Or to put it differently - why isn't the 'Active on Startup = 0' respected?

EDIT:
Ah, someone at DAM thought it's a good idea to be creative and the value to disable startup activation is... 2. :D

Setting that to 2 means logging won't happen until you activate it. If you don't want audio you can set Notification type to 2, which will attempt to tell you via the message center (chat) instead. If that still works in LMU.

I'm really grateful to the creators of the workspaces, but am I missing something big? Some very basics seem to be missing from Manic's workspace:
1. Ride Height and bottoming out.
1b. Bump stop/packers.

2. Ger Shifting.
3. Aero Rake tab - most data is blank apart from those alien chevrons at the top.
4. Understeer-Oversteer tab - most data is blank apart from Ackermann Angle at the bottom.
5. Underspeed vs speed tab - completely blank.
6. Many other sections blank.

I tried to open an LMU telemetry motec log in an ACC OhneSpeed's workspace but pretty much everything is blank as probably data naming doesn't match at all.

1. You're asking for variables that are quite difficult to get completed. Bottoming out doesn't seem to translate to a clear 0 number in any of the channels.
In this regard, I'm mainly missing the laser height sensor that many modern racecars have in the data provided from LMU.

1b. Bump stops are even more difficult in this regard, this is something unique to ACC to have in telemetry and is not a realistic channel. Aris put it in the ACC telemetry stream because he needed it to develop a good bumpstop model.

2. The current gear is in the data, you can plot that easily I don't see a need for a gear shifting output myself.

3. This is quite an accessible way to get into the maths channel of MoTeC. As it's just averaging and taking a difference/ percentage. It's a very powerful variable to have in your data, I agree to that.

4. Understeer/oversteer is based on a lot of variables to get right, and is with the current state of LMU and MoTeC just impossible to get right for multiple cars. You have to create a car specific workbook and then occupy it with properties that you have to research yourself as well.

5. I've never heard of underspeed...

ACC is indeed a completely different beast in terms of the variables that come out of it. You can play around with aliases but that gets really old really fast. Best is to use a LMU specific workbook.
